I think it represents a part of what the wii is for. The console market has all but ignored siple casual play and in turn shut out a lot of potential consumers. Wii is at least attempting to expand things.
But to say that's all wii is about seems nieve (sp?). Becuase cleary we still get our RE, Zelda, Metoids, and third party stuff...even if it's ports like Godfather.

i actually like all this partying madness for the wii cause thats my type of game. not really into all that heroic epic journey crap. i like playing fun games and massive shooters. (ok, maybe some rpgs and a few smaller shooters)
What I really cant understand is that this game was released at launch for Japan, Europe and Australia, and it was reviewed many places with similar scores, but somehow haters think it was hyped to be a great game at Gamespot :?

Amazon.com is saying Wii Play is the best selling product at their computer & video game division in its first week of release, so good for Nintendo I guess.
very constructive. If Wii play is even half as good as Wii sports, than we're in for a great game. (Coming with an extra controller is pretty awesome too.)

no, that is not what wii is for. it is a tech demo of ways that the controller can be used. that for FPS games, you can point at the screen for better accuracy...can you even fathom trying to complete that mini-game with a joystick. no, b/c it can't be done. the quick precision that the remote provides is unparalleled in console gaming.
However, in terms of sales, Wii Play will probably do better than Crackdown, which is pretty fun. In reality, buying Wii Play is like buying a controller and getting a free game with it.
