People say that there exist lot of good FPS games on PC. Which ones are worth buying?

It has nothing to do with exclusives....shooters are generally considered to be better on the PC because of things like much more precise control, and dedicaded servers (which allow for much better multiplayer matches), along with mods of all sorts.cobrax75

Well, considering that pc gamers get the consoles only good FPS shooter (Read: Halo), plus the additional exclusives such as Crysis and the battlefield series, makes the PC the FPS King.

you probably joined a bad server...if the game doesnt have crappy netcode, and has a large enough community to have a lot of servers...you will never get lag.

Regarding precise controls: All consolites are on the same boat and they also need some skill to aim with a controller

Nowadays pretty much every big name shooter is multiplat at least eventually. To me it's not about exclusives, the consoles certainly have enough FPS to keep anyone busy. To me it's the KB/M controls combined with mods and better multiplayer that allows more players that makes PC the FPS king. Not to mention the PC versions are pretty much always superior, and no, it's not an opinion, they just are, with better graphics, mods, bigger online and more precise control method that doesn't require autoaim or slower gameplay.

Stalker, NOLF, Crysis, SS, SWAT, Tribes, AvP and BF along with better versions of HL, Farcry and UT series with an added bonus of the best console ports like Riddick and Halo pretty much ensure that PC has the upper hand when it comes to games as well.

I think it's the modding community behind the games that make them so much better on PC. Not that their aren't great games.

yes, its considered to be the best COD game by many...its much more realistic for one.

first HL came out on PS2.

One more point: I somehow was more excited while playing HL1 then I was when playing HL2. HL1 AI looked better at that time.

IMO HL1 is better. Anyone thinks the same?

Not only is the PC the birth place of unique FPS games (Deus Ex, System Shock, etc), but it is also the best platform hands down to play all the major FPS games (heck, all your base are belong to us)! Combine that with the fact that we also have some extroidinary exclusives like Stalker and Crysis, and the PC is the king of FPS.Vandalvideo

Battlefield 2 is all I need. :) On another note, it's not necessarily the exclusives that make the PC a better FPS machine - but, the vastly superior controls.Erkidu
