Well yeah but it's not as severe, key word yet. 

a) it's a console not handheld

b) NSMB U already outsold the best selling Vita title

c) Nintendo has big guns to their disposal, Sony entirely depends on 3rd parties due to weak 1st party franchises

The point is WiiU has potential to turn around, Vita was dead on arrival due to a number of factors.

2D Mario game sold pretty good for how many systems were sold. Its attach rate is insane just like the first one.

Yeah they got issues but it isn't NSMBU. That game isn't exactly a console seller for their fanbase nor really much on the casuals but more like a pick up game for something extra with the pack in game, like on the Wii. The issue is WiiU's pack in game isn't a console seller really either even if it did well.

MKU should probably help considering thats when the library should start to look better, so that would be a pick up game just like NSMBU is.
