Is Rocksteady setting up for disappointment with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League?

First of, let me say the visual quality and performance look noticeably better than what they showed before, I'll give them that. But this doesn't mean this game will be the end of Rocksteady's career with all the BS WB is doing lately. This doesn't look any more convincing then when they showed it off earlier this year. Deluxe edition also shows this game will have early access and still have a battle pass.

Had Rocksteady kept it as a straight single-player/co-op game like they should have, I'd be pretty excited for it as I love Harley Quinn...even King Shark looks good here. This is a truly wait/see & GOTY edition for sure. (Hardwenzen, you were right)

Suicide Squad will be a fitting title if the game turns out to be an disappointment.

Can't wait to hate on the game. All these developers that try to introduce GaaS games that nobody asked for, deserve to be destroyed all over the social media.

I mean, did y'all see the kind of objectives this game offers as gameplay? Fly to a purple acne, and shoot at it until it explodes. Like what??? Is this 2006 all over again, or something? This game will die before being released, and i couldn't be happier.

I think @Maroxad will enjoy this game. Since he is not into games like Elden Ring (goty) and BG3 (goty), he will be incredibly entertained by Suicide Squad.

This doesn't feel like a game that developers wanted to make, instead it feels like a game that the suits at the top told them to make under the guise of "this is what modern gamers want"

I haven't followed this game at all so don't really know much about it but I feel like it has the word flop written all over it.

Have zero interest in the game. I don’t like anything about. Not how it looks (I mean artstyle), nor how it plays. What a waste of a talented studio 😞.

Maybe it’s meant for the Fortnight players? I have no interest in that game either, but it’s incredibly popular ofc. So hard to tell how this game will do.

If I had to guess, I’d guess that it will do about as well as the Avengers and Anthem….

This still looks worse than Marvel Avengers game. Poo. Core gameplay looks bland, weapons seem uninspired and generic. Game is more focused on guns than melee which is a disappointment. I'd think Harley's combat should be bludgeoning bad guys to death with a bat or giant mallet, or King Shark running around tearing people in half or eating them. This is an M rated game trying really hard to be E for everyone.

Just release this shit and be done with it WB. It's not like the delay fixed anything. I thought they should never had delayed it to begin with. Just fail and move on stop delaying the inevitable.

This is the type of shit that hits ps+ extra a year after release.

It is definitely looking better than before. It was giving some heavy looter shooter live service trash vibes before, but it is now looking more like a normal game. I am still not hyped for it though. I don't care for the characters and the game lacks the atmosphere that the Batman Arkham games had. I used to hold Rocksteady in high regard, but ever since this game was announced, that has all come into question. Hopefully the game ends up being good, but nothing I have seen has me excited. It will probably be better than Gotham Knights and The Avengers, but those games set pretty low bars.

This game is not setting us up for disappointment when expectations are low. Hopefully Rocksteady will deliver us a pleasant surprise instead.

Overrated studio. They would need to have made a proper Batman game in order to disappoint. Suicide Squad looks cringey anyway.

Between Gotham Knights & Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, I'd give the nod to Suicide Squad for being a better upcoming game as its a well known good developer but we'll see how this all plays out.

Be ready for the "gamepass on day one" announcement. Why? Because after the extreme backlash, they know that it won't do well, so just like Exoprimal, lets throw that shit on GP and hope it sticks.😯

Once again big, bloated budget and greed and poor corporate decision-making has led to something that should be amazing as underwhelming.

But that's cynical, and I should reserve judgement for when it's released. I like DC, I want to see DC-related stuff do well...it's just...blurgh, I feel bad for Rocksteady, they make the thoroughly great Arkham series and then get tasked with this.
