Is Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart the new Graphics King?

I'm just in awe at how good this game looks. Playing it on my OLED has been a visual treat and it's very fun. While the two previous PS5 exclusives Demon Souls remake and Returnal look very good in their own right, this game takes the cake. I can't think of any game at the moment that looks better. Heck, even looking at the Xbox presentation is hurting my eyes.

What say you, SW? Is Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart the new Graphics King?

Out of Rachet and Clank, Returnal and Resident Evil 8 which one should I buy and is the best value for price? I'm looking to buy a new game.

Right now I would say yes there is so much detail and it really does fell like you are playing a Pixar movie. Horizon forbidden west may give it a run and the new avatar looks amazing to.

Easily the best, tho the lines can be blurred when comparing art styles.

While it’s certainly a great looking game I would say that Microsoft Flight Simulator is still looks much better as well as Forza Horizon 5.

Up there with FS2020, FH5, Demon’s Souls Remake, RDR2, Cyberpunk 2077(when it clicks, at times it can look like shit).

At least you're honest lol. The Forza Horizon 5 looked pretty good man. Only thing I'm not crazy about was location. Would definitely have preferred Japan.

Nah, but it's up there. CP2077 still tops everything, if you have the hardware for it.

After seeing FH5 I'm unsure. But when things look as good as both this games do is more a question of preference in art style than anything else.

Having played two and currently playing the other, I gotta say that R&C is a fucking blast. Easily the best entry. Don't miss it. If you like big platforming action shooters, they nailed it.

It looks so fucking nice at times. It might just be the best looking game I've played, buuuuut the image clarity (resolution) suffers from RT quite a bit, maybe PS5 PRO can at least hold it at 1440p at all times. I did like RE8 graphics too though, game looks great IMO.

Edit: Someone mentioned it doesn't have any jaggies, it certainly does in performance RT.

EDIT2: Alrighty, since I had 120Hz mode enabled from my PS5 and my TV doesn't support 4k@120Hz (only 1440p or lower) I've been playing the game in frigging 1080p this whole time. R&C switches to 120Hz if the option is enabled from the PS5 and if your TV supports it at any level. I disabled the 120Hz option from the PS5 options so now the TV doesn't swith to 1080p/120Hz but stays in 4k/60Hz. Oughta have a cleaner image. NG+ here I come!

Edit3: Yeah it looks better now. I started to wonder if Returnal did that same crap too, where it switched the refreshrate to 120Hz and I've played it in 1080p too :D @goldenelementxl

Cyberpunk looks like shit too often to be the best-looking. Way too inconsistent. Can at times look like the best by a comfortable margin, but often it looks worse than Fallout 76.

The graphics are certainly amazing, from the texture of ratchets fur to the detailed levels and sick gunplay it’s a great game, I just started it yesterday but I am very happy with it so far.

i havent played any RC game before. i might start with the free one on psn collection before i buy this. but not sure if il enjoy another shooting game after returnal.

I think it looks fantastic from what I've seen but I'd have to wait till I get it on my own PS5. Graphics King? Sure, but more importantly, is it actually fun? I try ratchet every generation and am always disappointed, I'll try it again when it goes on sale.

I have no doubt that ratchet is a fantastic looking game and I haven't even played it. The price is steep, can't really stomach paying $70, not when I have so much games already.

I will have to disagree with you though...just because MSFS is coming to xbox soon, and FH5 too. With that said, the styles are different and no doubt all of these games are right at the top of best console graphics.

Yea probably. It's going to cause alot of butthurt when it wins all the graphics awards at the end of the year. The game honestly looks like a playable Pixar film and the Raytracing is by far the best on consoles.
