Is Rachet and Clank one of Sonys underrated and underappreciated IPs ?

With the recent announcement of a Rachet and Clank movie in the works, it seems as if Sony is trying to breathe some air into an IP that is rarely ever mentioned. Something got the curious, so i decided to pick up this game cheap and it seems as if this is one of those IPs that is very underappreciated just like many others i have played (Vanquish, Sleeping Dogs). If one observes the Rachet games, one can draw out potential for this to be Sonys mascot but for some reason, it just isnt is and also its not a game popular among gamers either, Why?

Because it's not on Xbox 360.

the ratchet and Clank series isnt underappreciated at all actually. It has a great fanbase.

Sly Cooper on the other hand is really underappreciated :(

It's a great franchise, at least for the most part. The PS2 iterations and ACiT are some of my favourite games.

Probably just a troll post.  But if serious then its kind of sad.  If you think that the games you play make you a man, then you aren't much of a man at all.

More like the most milked franchise for Sony. Seriously they need to stop focusing on it, getting really stale with spin-offs and stuff. 

Some of the titles are borderline bad and set a bad name for the main series. It's no wonder people don't really want to talk about it as much anymore...

but those newer installments arent the classic R&C gameplay. Insomniac is making some weird experiments with the franchise, i dont know why:(

Traditional R&C series+ A Crack in Time and Super Mario Galaxy series, are the 3D platformer with the highest quality you can get in the market IMO

Nope. Love the Ratchet and Clank Future games and classics. Crack in Time and tools of destruction were great, so were the classic PS2 games.

The spin offs suck though.

Sony should just keep the games traditional and try to add new gameplay elements to them. Screw the spin offs, all for one and Full frontal assault.

Ratchet and Clank is one of Sony's best selling series. Let me give you a list of series that have sold less: Killzone Mag Resistence Haze LBP Sly copper TM Uncharted SOCOM etc. Not seeing how it's underrated. Not to mention the 2nd best platforming series of all time next to Jak.Jakandsigz

R&C series is also in my 2nd best platforming series of all time, next to mario

Also TC is misinformed, cause the R&C series has already sold 35 mio units + worldwide

If anything, the series is overrated. Mediocre storyline and its sequels have been uninspiring rehashes, especially with recent entries.hiphops_savior
