Is Pikmin 4 the most realistic game ever made?

I have never played a game with better graphics. The realism is just unmatched. So happy Pikmin 4 is for real and wasnt canceled like many had thought. Wish they would have shown more, but i understand this game is coming at a much later date. Cant wait to play this beast, and i hope theyre adding online to the Bingo game so i can play against others. That mode is so addicting. 2023 is looking to be an insane year for Nintendo. Lets go!

There is a rule i follow, and that rule is to never bash Pikmin. It looks good. Now, why did it took them 50 years to announce a sequel?

The only one I played was Pikmin 3 on Wii U and I loved it. Such a charming game. Glad to see there will be a new entry in the series. Not concerned whether the graphical improvements are substantial, last game looked just fine, I just hope it has that same charm that made Pikmin 3 such a great experience.

Ignoring the title, that is not in-game. We all know the Switch can't do anti-aliasing to save its life.

A teaser doesn't say much so I cannot give you my opinion until I see real gameplay.

It's just the art style. There's tons of games that have this realistic artstyle. And trust me, this isn't in-game. This game running in 720p with no AA will look like a nightmare.

Idunno as far as shrunken-down game worlds go I think Grounded has it beat

Honestly it looks exactly like Pikmin 3, and I don't g.a.s. that it does.

Oof. I’ve seen some threads backfire in my time, but this thread is going down faster than the price of bitcoin.

I'm convinced that System Wars is filled with threads created for the purpose to incite people. Some of you are either dead serious and devoted to a game company that cares about making a buck more than you as a person and you worship them like they're God, or the one's of you who're constantly poking at each other are doing it in jest.

@mrbojangles25: Meh. Not too bad but definitely lacking in personality. The character has that generic Xbox avatar look, and the upper screenshot looks like it's trying to be a big-boy Pikmin game and only somewhat succeeding. Sometimes developers pull off the Nintendo-style charm well, such as in It Takes Two or Tunic, but it's more miss than hit.

Just no. Pikmin has never been good and they showed nothing.

The background of the game looks realistic, but the creatures depicted are cartoonish.

Even since playing the first Pikmin in 2002, I always wonder whether I am seeing a earth through the eyes of little aliens.

It's always been good. Especially Pikmin 2.

For Pikmin 4, they showed some environments, some characters and a new camera angle. Enough for fans to be interested at least.

Apparently development restarted a whole bunch of times, and then last month a master copy was destroyed in a fire (probably why there was no trailer).

I never understood pikmin. Even when it got praised after its first release on the gamecube days, I never bothered to play it.

To each their own man. Pikmin has always been one of those franchises I just don't get why they are so popular. I'm happy they have a dedicated fanbase though.. and obviously they do or they wouldn't still be making games.

@blaznwiipspman1: Its pretty cool. So its a real time strategy. Its also a survival game, your collecting resources to help progress through different parts of the level. Like maybe a gas can is blocking your path and you need to build a bridge to get to the gas can. But...maybe on the other side of this gas can is a killer worm with big teeth. So its a puzzle game to through exploring, fighting, and managing you army.

@mesome713: it doesn’t sound like my thing. Though that formula reminds me of it takes 2. I thought that game was dumb before I played it, but now I think it’s great. I have issues with judging games before I play them.

Back when tlou first released, I thought it was a family game with drama and a movie game just from the box cover. So I ignored it for 7 years. Once I played it, I found out it was an action survival horror zombie sort of game, like re4 and regreted not playing it on ps4.

In my opinion, it's one of those games that doesn't look like anything special, but when you play it you'll understand why the gameplay is satisfying.

It has this really nice blend of exploring, adventuring, collecting, puzzle solving and real time strategy combat. Have personally never played anything else that's like Pikmin. The only thing that comes close (that I can think of) is Overlord, and while fun, wasn't even close to Pikmin good. That new game TinyKin seems pretty similar too, but I dunno about that one.

And the Lemons in Uncharted look like that to optimize the game. Have to render less triangles.
