Is Mass Effect 2 the best game ever?

I've played ME2, and I definitely think it's the best game ever. Well, according to me.

But then again, there are other games like Half Life 2, Ocarina of Time, Link to the Past and others up for contention, and it would be unfair to completely neglect them.

So my question (TO THOSE WHO HAVE PLAYED ME2) is, is Mass Effect 2 the best game ever? Or at least amnong the best?

No, the game has no solid backbone

I don't think it's the best, but I will say that I've enjoyed the Mass Effect series far more than any other releases this generation. It's absolutely a great game, but I'll hold out on my overall judgement until ME3 is released.

The severe lack of RPG elements coupled with brocken/glitchycover systemreally hurt its chances.

Right dev, wrong game.. KOTOR Baby !!!! :D Might be a pipe dream but I'm hoping Mass Effect 3 unseats KOTOR as King but TBH, all I got is hope ATM and not too much faith. :?

Though Bungies HALO CE is right there as well. :P

Ill say so if you take all 3 as a whole.

I would say its my favorite RPG from this current gen of consoles. Even over Fallout 3 which I love that game a lot. But not the best game ever, the best game of last year IMO.

Nah. Story was fairly disappointing and combat was shallow. It's a 9/10 but there's plently room for improvement. Hopefully ME3 delivers on its potential.

Its really good but to me it isnt the best Bioware game. It doesnt have their signature plot twist towards the end either.

Shallow gameplay, tedious storyline and constant downgrades from its prequel? I think not. Though it wasn't the technical disaster the first game was.

MGS4 is the best game ever, hence me voting NO :)

Mass Effect 2 is in my top 50 games of all time which is quite an accomplishment. Therefore, I picked the third option.

It's my favorite game this gen. Best ever? Anymore I find it impossible to pick a best of all time. Too much diversity.

I think games that survive the test of time and manage to stay great 10-20yrs. after they're released are what I would call the best. SMB, SMB3, Chrono Trigger, DKC, LttP, Sonic 2, SFII, Perfect Dark, UT, Wind Waker, and so on.

I would consider Mass Effect 2 be one of the worst games I have ever played and was the last straw I had with Bioware. I would rather listen to Friday by Rebecca Black than play through that abomination again.

Super Mario Bros, Red Alert, Super Mario Bros 3, A link to the Past, Ultima 4, Ultima 7, OoT, Ultima Underworld, Majora's Mask, Deus Ex, System Shock 2 (It came in the mail yesterday Arach666), Warcraft 2+3, Starcraft 1+2, Diablo 2, Metroid Prime, Super Metroid, STALKER: SoC, Tetris, VotM, Mount & Blade: Warband, Super Mario Galaxy 1+2, Daggerfall, Heroes 3, King's Bounty: The Legend, Gothic 2, Planescape Torment, Doom 2, Fallout 2, Half Life, Duke Nukem 3D, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Rogue Spear, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, Grim Fandango, Sid Meier's Civilization 4, Sid Meier's Pirates and X-Com UFO Defense are all titles I would consider to be far more enjoyable than ME2.

It may or may not be the best, but it's still a must-have.
