i remember back during last gen when EGM and other magazines were talking about the new systems coming out and they also mentioned other companies i'd never heard of coming out with video game consoles. what happened to those consoles? there were handhelds too.

But the console will never see the light of day. Gizmondo is another that failed. Hard. It was a handheld. And there's the GT-32X or something, another handheld that was essentially made for homebrew, and I guess it does what it is supposed to do but remains a commercial failure.
