Hi, I have both consoles and a Gaming PC, but I sometime think that having an Xbox 360 is not all necessary.

I love the X360 as well as the PS3, it's just that most of the games like Gears of War, Mass Effect, Fable, and L4D I prefer to play on my PC. I can up the Graphics, and also, Mods :).

PS3 has some nice unique games already out and coming soon: (Resistance, Infamous, Twisted Metal, Socom, Killzone, LBP, ModRacer, Last Guardian, GOW, GT5, Uncharted, Agent, 3D Dot, Heavy Rain, Demons Souls, MAG, Yakuza, MotorStorm, MLB Show, and MGS4) well, you get the idea. I won't even mention FF13 Versus since we don't know where it truly lies, hehe, and FF Online because that is coming out for PC as well.

There are some games on Xlive (Pacman, Banjo, Raiden, Ikaruga... etc.) & PSN (PixelJunks, Comet Crash, Wipeout, Warhawk, Fat Princess... etc.).

If I only own a PS3 and a Gaming PC, the only thing I can think of for an X360 that you may be missing out on is Halo (myself, not so into Halo), Natal ( I already use PS Eye), Forza, and the latest game, Alan Wake. I like Tales of Vesperia X360, but I believe it will come to US PS3 someday.

So, what else is worth to have an X360?

Gears of war comes out really late for pcs and Halo yes I know but reach is pretty different.

You don't need any system. However you could look up the exclusives and make up your own mind.

I have all three systems and I'm telling you the PS3 is just as obsolete as the 360. I do 90% of my gaming on my PC.

I mainly use my 360 for halo games. halo 3, halo 3: OSDT, and the halo reach beta. halo reach is so good, I haven't touched my ps3 or pc since may 3rd. but, tuesday alan wake comes out, so I might play that a bit.

I have those 3 and play my 360 the most out of the 3, my PS3 collects dust as well, and PC gets some attention from time to time.

Surely not. I'm fairly sure the Ps3 is very slightly less obsolete than the 360.

i'd never want to prevent myself from playing Earth Defense Force 2017, or Halo or Forza or Crackdown or Gears or etc.

it still has its uses, notably renting games and playing splitscreen with friends

can't do that with my PC, tho i do play games online with friends over Steam

Yea, maybe, hehe. But, no offense to anyone really. Just want to hear all gamers worldwide, opinions. Again, no biased on any platform, I use them all, just lately, been playing most games on PS3 and PC. Still love the X360.

There's virtually the same amount of good exclusive games as the PS3. If I were one of those PC/PS3 types I'd still pick one up.

And here's why I do 360 the most:

360 exclusives

360/PS3 games that are mainly better on 360

XBLA

To me, I don't play much PC exclusives, mainly multiplats, and I don't play hardly any PS3 multiplat, mainly exclusives, and some good ones don't impress me.

Those are my real reasons.

Not at all. If you want it, then that's up to you. I personally find enough games to play, even though I own a 360, PC, PS3 and Wii.

Yea, thats true. Sometimes there are so many games, I don't even know where to play. I would go on PC to play Dragon Age, then on PS3 to play PixelJunk, and X360 to play Pacman and (still love this game).

I don't need any of them, they are luxary items.

I do however own a PS3, Wii, 360, PC, DS and a PSP.

Why? No idea, i seems to have more money then sense.

I play my Wii the least of all my consoles, followed by my PS3 which ... Well i just plain don't like.

I think the 360 and PC is a fine choice, the 360 has as much exclusives as the PS3, besides, the majority of these exclusives are far overrated imo.

GOW, UC, Halo all pretty **** compared to how they were rated.

If you wish to play the 360 exclusives, then yes. I don't understand why this question is asked. Crackdown 2, Halo Reach, Alan Wake, Fable 3 (at least for now), Forza 3, PGR, etc.

If you have any desire to play any of these games then Yes, you do need one. Since they are literally only on 360. If not, then no, you don't. This should be self explanatory. Don't understand why flamebait always needs to be put up.

I use my 360 for superior Netflix, a few exclusives, and superior multiplats. PS3 for Blu-Ray and best exclusives. PC for everything else (I'm primarily a PC gamer). If I had to get rid of one, I'd choose the 360, because the PS3's exclusives are significantly better than the 360's.

Although the PS3 and PC are my best combo to me, which I thought, the XBOX 360 is only needed if you like to have as many achievements you want or you like games intensely.

Obviously you're offended. Thats what system wars about... Even If I wanted to cause a flamebait, I would post something against X360 on the X360 Forum, or write X360 is the Best in bold letters on the PS3 Forum. This topic is not meant to cause flame, and so far its going pretty well.

Me too. Haven't bought a PS3 game since Heavy Rain, and traded that it for JC2 on 360. I prefer multiplats on the 360 cos of the controller, and I have more friends on Live than I do on PSN. PC gaming is pretty much for Football Manager/Civ games and RPGs, though I bought Maximum Crysis last year and it was ****ing awesome.

PS3/PC all the way. The 360 gets the best of the console world and the best of the PC world. If you have to get two systems and you want to play more than just a handful of exclusives on the other, the 360 is a terrible choice. 1 stone = 2 birds is bad math.

I had this same conversation with a co-worker at work the other day. He has a 360 and a PC, (only has 360 cause that's what his girl bought him. He didn't understand why I didn't want to buy a 360. I told him it had nothing I wanted that I couldn't get on the PS3 or the PC. I will always own a gaming PC and a PlayStation brand Console as its been the killer combo since the PS came out. I have halo 2 on pc and can't even play the game anymore (not that I want to, it was meh) but they made it vista only and I went back to XP (for many very good reasons). Gears was ok, but way over-hyped here. I remember when it came out, lemmings went wild all over the net, I got it the next year on PC and was like, OK....what was so special about this? PC and PS3 renders 360 unneeded unless you want halo and gears2.

Barely. If you want to play 360 exclusives, you need a 360. It depends what you feel is neccesary and it's not something that you can form a consensus on.

Thats why my topic is If you had a PS3/PC, why need X360 :). It could very well also be "Why have PC, when you have X360/PS3"

Barely. If you want to play 360 exclusives, you need a 360. It depends what you feel is neccesary and it's not something that you can form a consensus on.

PC/360 also render the PS3 uneeded

EDIT: If you own a gaming PC then did you play dragon Age on the PS3?

Actually I did at the time, my PC was acting wonky, I have since reformated and fixed (stupid vista! Back to reliable stable xp for me!), but i was too anxious to play dragons age. I do wish now that I had to pc version though. AS Baldur's gate, Torment, etc.. are some of my favorite pc rpgs.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I do agree with your post. It's just that there seems to be this urban legend that the PS3 has more exclusives. It might have mroe quality exclusives (never bothered to check), but as far as quantity goes, it does not have more then the 360

I have same feeling. I mean, I own the 3, but the only thing the X360 at the moment, I want to try is Alan Wake. But what happens after that, after I finish it... Nothing really looking forward to. I mean Natal I believe will not be that great. I mean PS3 Eye is about the same and I don't like gaming on the PS Eye. I mainly use it as a Mic or Web Cam with my family. Halo Reach Im not really excited about. I'm just a little tired of Halo (for me only, my opinion). Alan Wake at least is different, but X360 just for that game?

I am actually a BIG Sacred fan. I own it on both the PC and PS3, and played it on pc the year before, when it was launched. I wanted to support the dev and play co-op with some psn friends, and I actually found sacred played great with the controller (with how they made it anyway) and looked spectacular on PS3, it actually rendered 1080p native as well.

I do, on my PC. And Fable 3 I believe is coming out on PC. :)
