I don't think it will. All the reviewers are getting all excited about curremt gen games I think most will forget about it.meetroid8
Which is sad considering how great that game was. I thought it was leaps and bounds better than the first and i loved the first one. Can't wait for gow 3, just hope they keep goin uphill with it.
I think God of War 2 has a very high chance of it happening. But I think the overall top conteners are going to be Halo 3 (which sucks really), Mass Effect, Bioshock, God of War 2 and Mario Galaxy. Maybe Call of Duty 4 will fit in that but we'll see. Lots of good games for 2007. 2008 is going to be much bigger though.
Halo 3...GOTY? I've wanted to play God of War since the first was released, yet I've never owned a PS2.
My thoughts on Halo 3 as GOTY is that anyone who thinks that way is just kidding themselves. Sure its brilliant and revolutionized console online, but, for me, was a let down. Granted a small one.
Mass Effect has the best chance of winning GOTY in my eyes. Really this should be understood seeing as how GOTY was stolen from KOTOR in 2003.
I would so give it to GoW2. But for some reason, the GS reviews for GoW games are always positive with little to no negatives, yet they rate the games pretty low for games that are near perfection. They said GoW2 was alot better than GoW1, so logic would state it would get rated higher, but alas that is not the case :(. I know they got AAA on GS, i just think they deserve a lil more than 9.2/9.3
Haven't played GoW2, and didn't care for the first one. Presentation was great though, just the gameplay wasn't very entertaining. So far there hasn't really been a game that deserves GOTY in my opinion. Sure there have been plenty of great (scoring) games but this year has been filled with letdown after letdown...with a few pleasant surprises: The Darkness and MP3 (seeing as it was 8.5). Bioshock and Halo 3 were...meh, at least Bioshock did some new things.

maybe so but if a game improves on its predecessor, it should atleast get an equal score, not less.
Halo 3 offers far more as far as gameplay. The single player, co-op, some great online multi player. GoW does not offer as much as Halo offers.

What a stupid statement. Halo3 should not win period for the same reason GoW2 shouldn't.... prettymuch the same as their predecessor. GoW2 is an awesome game though...... far more epic than anything "next gen". It should be Bioshock, Crysis, or something completely unexpected like Uncharted.
Halo3 should not win GoTY. There are many games that deserveit more. GoW2 being one of them, orange box being another, also LozPH and Bioshock IMO, and those are just the games I've played.
