I hate Square Enix (the company, I don't hate some of their games). They have neglected so many great series only to continue supporting garbage. The Final Fantasy series is great, but other trash games like Full Metal Alchemist, Dragon Quest Spinoff 333, Children of Mana, and FF spinoffs anger me.
I want sequels to games like Vagrant Story, Chrono, and Parasite Eve. Sure, FFXIII looks great, but I'm sure more people would want anothe Chrono Trigger or Vagrant Story.
I love Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Front Mission, but this is becoming quite ridiculous, IMO.
i have to agree with u but to be honest i think they arent making squeals to games like chrono trigger / PE because of the fact that the stories have to match up and to make a great story without conintuity problems is really tough
and honeslty if u wanted the story to be believeable how many times can a main character save the world in a given life span? of course the could alway go along the lines of zelda and recycle 90% of the game play and not really include much of a story

They're easily making crap spinoffs of FF7, a great game, without thinking twice. Why couldn't they make another Chrono game. I see where you're going though.

I've heard the new FFs from FFIX gets worse, partly due to SE? I've played VII to IX so far and really enjoyed them. I hope i won't be dissapointed in FFX.

You do bring up a good point. Milking franchises is not something that only Square Enix is guilty of though. Nintendo has been milking Mario games for such a long time. I'm surprised that the Zelda Franchise is not being milked to death. Yeah, it would be cool to play a new Chrono Trigger or even a Vagrant Story, but I guess we have to remember that Square Enix is a business. They would much rather make a new Final Fantasy VII game than develop a new one. I honestly wouldn't want a remake of that game because it would feel like such a easy way to make money. Let the game have it's dignity and develop a new game from scratch.
Yeah, a lot of companies take good games and give them terrible spinoffs, or they make a really good one, then make like 7 bad ones. A reminder to bad spinoffs is the Zelda CDI games. Nintendo didn't make them, but they were still REALLY bad.

FFIX and FFX isn't Square Enix games. Both 9 and 10 are made by Square Soft, FFX-2 was the first SE game. I know both 9 and 10 have SE markings, but that's because they were the newest two when Square merged with Enix (so they were able to change the cover when both went Greatest Hits).
Square should work on their other names, right now about all they work on is Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts (both I love). They need to open their doors a little more.
