i dont know if it ever hit me that i was a true gamer. i just kind of became one and never realized it. so i cant give an age when i realized it. but i started playing videogames at the age of 7 or 8 and it started with the snes and donkey kong country. and im 18 know.
12, i didnt start actually "playing" games until then,like i used to use cheats and stuff when i got frustrated, now I play the game through before I try any of that stuff.
lol nice question.. i've had computers since i was prob 6 or so.. and even then i was just looking for the games on it.. i'd say like 11 or 12 though when i up'd my hardware..
at the young age of 5,the nes did that for me,i just loved playing contra,castlevania and super mario bros,now im 21 and been gaming for almost 17 years.

In that case 29. I am now 32.
However, I don't think of myself as a 'true gamer', just someone who happens to like playing videogames.
You either play games or you dont. Why do people on this board feel they have to put themselves on a pedestal by declaring themselves "True Gamers" or "Hardcore Gamers"? Do you feel proud of this tag you put on yourselves? Do you feel you have a superior knowledge of what makes a game good compared to someone who does not play games as much as you?
