How often did you use a horse in Breath of the Wild?

I would say about 1 percent of my traveling involved riding. The land is just far too dense and the horses too frequently couldn't navigate where I needed to go or were stopped by objects. Kind of like trying to ride through a classic top down Zelda game.

Using a horse is at odds to the games design. Either the world requires thorough exploration, or it doesn't... Then you've got the issue of fast travel overlaid on that. So the game doesn't give proper incentives to use horses... Not to mention that most of the exploration you do is inconsequential.

Very little. I just had a lot more fun exploring on foot.

Not much. I preferred to run and glide.

Who needs a horse when you have a motorcycle?

Literally once. Then I left it there to die.

Only when fighting the hinox enemies for that easy air and aim in master mode.

Much more fun on foot.

Not much other than when trying to get to point B faster. Horses in this game is one of themore useless things. Not fun to use also.

I love the horses, mine usually rocks a mohawk.

More than i would have thought ... i mean, sure the best way to travel in that game IMO is to go to a nearby tower and glide towards your destination, but the land was so beautiful and dense that every once in a while i was doing some riding just for the sake of ... and when you get Zelda's horse (well, it's relative or whatever) it just feels right to ride to Hyrule's Castle for the last battle like i always did on previous games.

Oddly enough ... i almost never ride in Horizon, i probably did it once or twice at the beginning, but after that, never even tried to catch one, very weird since both games work kind of similar in that regard.

All the time. Incredibly useful and I don't see how it interferes with exploration at all - get off the horse when you need to? Running is a chore

Not much at all. I'd largely just glide as close as possible. When I go back to the game, i'd probably like to explore a little better... I am often the guy that goes point A-to-B in the quickest fashion.

I used it a ton at first but after awhile I just teleported everywhere and gave up using them.

I had a good balance of various forms of travel in BotW, including horses.

One thing I liked about the horses is when you form a good connection they can basically turn into an autopilot function because you can get them to keep moving at a constant pace and they'll follow the trails, and they're good at sifting safely past enemies. When you get them into autopilot mode you can literally put down the controller, go to the bathroom or get a drink or whatever, and you were still traveling the whole time without your input.

Being able to do that sometimes is also quite relaxing because you can just move the camera around while you're moving and soak in the scenery.

I used them more towards the end of the game and only when I finally captured the spirit and giant horse.

Forgot the horse existed tbh. Before I got bored of the game and quit it, the only takeaway I had was the horrible weapon damage mechanic.

I did a bit, but that's because I didn't fast travel.

During my first playthrough, very little if ever. I started seriously using horses post-game (completing the game after the main story) but even then I still prefered on-foot travel.

A lot, fast travel takes the open out of open world, I have never liked using it at all so I used the horse to get around everywhere. I preferred the horse to that motorbike thing too.

Quite a bit, as I found it enjoyable. Took my time to find my perfect looking horse with perfect stats and enjoyed putting badass armor on it. Wasn't very needed as fast travel and gliding exist, but it was nice to have for big open areas. Nothing beats going on foot and gliding through the world though.

Maaan.. I miss the game. Might have to do a third playthrough. I'm up at 600-700 hours and still want more.

Not much. I mainly use it when I know where I want to go and there's no convenient warp point close by.
