How are people dealing with lack of digital space on the PS5? 825GB is not a lot for games.

With switch you can switch out 512gb cards with ease even 1TB ones with ease what is sony doing about this?

I don't want an external I don't want to mess with a bigger internal one what are my options Sony guys what are my options? With the xbox you can swap a new one in the back right a seagate one or other ones. What are my options with sony.

If I can't get storage options I can't go digital I need to go physical discs again for the ps5.

I've been doing fine. I usually delete games I'm not playing and most of my games are disc based anyway. But yeah they need to hurry with that expanded storage for the all digital crowd.

PS5 games take less storage. That's what my experience has been so far. Whenever I have a PS4 game that has a free PS5 upgrade, the PS5 version takes up less space. How many games do you need at a time, anyway?

I'm not crowded out yet. I haven't DLed my whole library to my PS5 yet and just play what I need. I really only use it for exclusives anyway. I have an external ready for when the time comes though.

Yeah but can the external play games I don't want to swap out games from an external thats gonna take forever. I want to play my games off the external and I don't like having an external I like it to attach like the switch sd cards or the xbox series x

The PS5 also downloads faster, at least that's what I've observed so far. You can still install a lot of games.

Bro Its cool you can download fast and delete and stuff but I want all my games at all times ya know what i mean without an external, maybe one huge internal could work I dunno what ya think is sony working on a bigger one or a new model that can attach externals? Ya get my point right sony almost shut down the vita store luckily i only have a hand ful of digital games and there all installed on there but what if I didn't have enough space I'd be in trouble ya know?

Has been a non-issue. I only play one game at a time, and even then I have a bout a dozen games downloaded just in case.

I don't have a data cap, though.

Just like I did with my PS4, I'll add 1TB SSD when I pick up PS5 later this year but as @Zero_epyon said, delete games when you aren't playing them and can redownload them at anytime. I went digital on PS4 and I never had a problem with limited GB storage cause I know how to manage my storage.

What about the vita store i had like 20 digital games on my vita and luckily i had enough space for them they were about to shut down the store and you can't redownload the games if they shut down remember what happened to the virtual console you can't download those anymore you need to keep all your digital games at your house.

External SSD. Don't praise MS option, absolute rip off and brings back memories of needing vita propriety storage.

I have my PS4 library on a 5 tb external and have moved a few PS5 games there as well. If I need to, I'll just move them back over to the main system.

Basically, not an issue and hasn't been an issue. Maybe in the future I'll want to put another ssd in, but can't see a real point in that right now. At most, I usually only play or two games at a time and the system can hold more than that.

Your whole library of digital games that you own in case things get dicey would be nice right? Or atleast all your favorite games right?

@ProtossRushX: I ended up buying Physical Vita games as I came late to the Vita and plus, just a handful of exclusives is all I use it for, so no issues on the memory.

Once I beat a game or I get tired of it, I never go back to it so it can get deleted. I have a couple games (God of War, UC4) that I've yet to play that are on the hard drive, but they'll probably remain unplayed, there's just too many other indie games that come out and grab my attention these days.

It can be a pain in the ass, but games download so fast it's pretty much a non issue. It definitely isn't a good solution, and I would prefer a larger storage option but this early in the generation it gets a slight pass. Hopefully they make the situation better soon.

Go back to making games few GB or less. I got some 200 Xbox 360 games on my 4TB external HDD and it's not even half full yet.

Just seen a You Tube video where someone transferred a 35GB game (Killing Floor) from his external SSD drive to his PS5 SSD drive and it took 2 minutes 11 secs.

If you cannot wait that long for a game to be transferred then you do not deserve a next gen console as you are a whiney manchild.

@Pedro: Would they have been prepared to pay the cost of the extra storage?

No, thought not

The Xboxers are probably angry that they had to pay for the console in the first place - the freeloaders that they are. ;-)

Last I checked the competition offers more space for the same price. I am sorry that you like paying the same for less and more for games. 😎

@Pedro: Call it knowing the value of something as well as the price

I'd rather pay £70 for a game I will actually rather than pay £12/month for games I have no interest in playing.

PS4 games all can run on an external drive, and they still get a boost to loading times. Monster Hunter World is a good example of this.

I maxed my storage space in the first month of owning my ps5, it is very limited and doesn’t take long to fill, but I just delete games after I’ve completed as many trophies as I feel like I can get on a game, I keep some games downloaded like the Tony Hawk remaster to play whenever I want to relax and mess around though. But a bigger storage option would be a huge help.

I have a 4TB external for my entire PS4 collection. I have about 5 or 6 actual PS5 games and plenty of SSD space available. I'll eventually upgrade the internal but it will have to wait.

You have plenty of space for 5 or 6 games? My switch lite has like 50 games im not kidding it has 50 on my 512gb card with the internal too
