I ask this due to people always claiming XBL is too expensive, say $5 a month. So I just thought it would be interesting to see what the price difference is in peoples broadband.

nobody's claiming it is to expensive.
We just don't want to pay M$ to use our internet connections.
Around 35$ a month or so, I have the Optimum Triple Play crap on the east coast. It's like 100 bucks for Internet + Phone + TV.angry_forkdo the price remain the same? or does it change every now and then? i was actually thinking about getting optimum, but i have crappy verizon, with out the fios.

I think the first year is 30 and then after that it goes to like 40 for each.

I'm not paying MS to use my internet, I'm paying them to use their Xbox live servers that I connect when I turn my 360 on.. whatever servers it takes for the games to connect me to other gamers. $5 a month is plenty for me... Why pay Blizzard to use my internet playing WoW?[QUOTE="SgtWhiskeyjack"]I ask this due to people always claiming XBL is too expensive, say $5 a month. Very true and I was going to state that prior to seeing that you had.
However, you can get free anti-virus software or to get better protected, you can spend $40 on it. Same with XBL if you believe that you get a better service and additional features are worth the annual fee.
Thanks for all those that answered, the results were quite interesting.
~$40/month. 12 Megabits downstream. (Really wish FiOS was available in my area.)
On top of that, I pay $12/month for premium Usenet access (for my x264 fix), and I'll sometimes subscribe to Xbox Live for very short periods of time when something catches my interest. This very rarely happens, as there's very little worthwhile content provided by the service. Even at $6/month, XBL is simply not worth it.
Like 15 quid a month for Broadband and Landline.
Why is mine so much cheaper than eveyone else's, anyway?
