Hitman is officially Episodic = Hitman is officially DOA

Man, what can I even say about this? No one wants an episodic Hitman game. Developer and Publisher were getting huge shit for this last year, and now we have another crappy episodic money grab on the way. FF7, Hitman... what's next? Is Epona going to be DLC in Zelda Wiiu? I hate video games. Hashtag it in all of your posts and weep for our industry.

Looks like this is the end again.

Episodic dosent mean its going to be bad though actually that could be a good thing since instead of having a single broken or boring game now each episode will try to be better than the previous episode depending on feedback so you dont really have to be stuck with one broken/glitchy game besides seems like each episode to cost $15 so if you get 4 episodes thats your full $60 game spread out through the year no big deal

Umm it will retail later for 60$ just like every AAA retail game. What is the issue here if you just wait? This is great for people who want to buy EP1 to see if they like it and buy the next.

This is only a problem if each one is overpriced in relation to quality and amount of content. As stated, if each one costs $15, has maybe 5 or 6 hours of campaign gameplay (do they intend on having online components), I don't it's so bad. The real issue is whether or not the my can juggle all of this without making it seem like a cash grab.

@finalstar2007: Why can't they just release a $60 game that fucking rocks and that will stomp my expectations? None of this, "well maybe the episodes will slowly get better". Publishers are taking advantage of us.

I dont see the problem. As long as they keep adding more content and more areas whats the big deal? Hitman isn't a big RPG like FF7, thats a stupid comparison.

Three pieces of paid DLC in between each new episode/level release, just to help you fill in time and keep you busy 0_o

So "episodic" is now the new term for early access. I'm sure me and many others would much rather have a full game instead of having bits of scrap thrown at us every month.

So now instead of making a game and selling us DLC through it publishers have decided to just turn the whole game into DLC itself.

Will get it once full version is out.

...and, like DLC and micro-transactions, I think this is another case where gamer are correct to bitch and whine.

I bet it will be $15 per episode too, and if it's 5 episode congrats; that means your $60 game now costs $75. I doubt the game will be any better for this either. This is probably just their way of trying to get $75 for the same game, without actually raising the price at retail.

it will most likely be $20 per 1-3 episodes (making the same price as a AAA retail game).

they'll probably will be add-ons/micro transcactions tho.

The statue of the main character in the $140 collectors edition looks pretty awesome. Even comes with the signature red tie for the player to wear. That said, it's $140 for half a game... on a series that was never a favorite of mine. I probably will never play it.

No, I wont hashtag it and put it in my posts. I'll react like an adult and just not buy one episode. This is a business before an art form whether any of us cares to believe it or not. Just don't buy this or the almighty FF7 remake. Put your money where your mouth is. But I bet most cant do it, especially when it comes to FF7 Remake.

Ew no thanks.. I want full games. Not small chunks of games released on a monthly or more basis. I don't think there has been a single good example of a episodic game anywhere ever. Telltale games have always been below average QTE based games using the same cut and paste graphics engine. They don't really feel like full games when completed.

@finalstar2007: Revelations 2 was probably the most content rich title in the series.

Developers wouldn't keep doing this if it wasn't working financially. But guess what? It seems to be. We're quick to blame developers and publishers without willing to ackowledge that gamers are partly responsible for this as well, because they keep buying into it.

Preferably, I wish developers immediately offered you a choice between buying separate episodes for an incremental fee or a whole "season" for the standard pricing. I think if SE had done that, then any uproar would be quickly supressed.

I recently picked up FFVII for $3 on PSN. I'd rather play the entire original game as intended than some episodic cut version. Even as butt ugly as it can be at times I'd rather put up with dated graphics than a shinier pretty version that butchers the original.

I just worry that it won't be worth the ticket price. They will most likely **** us for every dollar per episode, give us as little as possible, then release the full game. I love Hitman but I don't believe this will go well.

I am waiting for it's release to pass judgement.. People were bitching about Blizzard's StarCraft 2 game in releasing a episodic expansion pack set when it was first announced too..

I'm easily entertained, Big Pun so I did have fun with Absolution. A 7/10 at most imo. I don't need every game to be teh super duper challenges and ZOMG all teh handholding sucksorz. It was a fun little game. A one play and done, period.

I completely agree. Absolution felt more like an action, movie tie in if you get me. I still had some fun. But nothing has surpasses Agent 47 PC, or Blood Money for me.
