Which do u think is better?
I like the health bar more as regenerating health is kinda stupid.

I like STALKER's health system. It's med kits and regen.....the health regenerates incredibly slow though.
Yeah. What he said. For me its regenerating health.. I hate it when you kill a guy but then you get weak, and once you fight another guy you die because other guy had an advantage, really pisses me off..

I prefer the regenerating bar, I have grown accustomed to this for games like Halo, but I heard ODST is going to have a health pack system, I hope it doesn't affect the flow of the game too much.
Good, maybe the game will actually have some depth. :PI prefer the regenerating bar, I have grown accustomed to this for games like Halo, but I heard ODST is going to have a health pack system, I hope it doesn't affect the flow of the game too much.

Health bar all the way, regenerating health is part of the problem with games getting easier.

None
I prefer invisible health bars that cannot be replenished, like the ones in games like Rainbow Six or SWAT.
Between the choices traditional health bar, for me. Altough I really liked MoH:Airborne's health bar that was segmented into smaller bar and each one regenerated unless completely depleted or the one in Halo CE.
It depends on the game but i think that regen' health can allow for more intense and brutal firefights where it actaully feels like bullets hurt.
Resistance:FoM health system. It combined the best of regenerating and bars/counters to create the GREATEST health system ever.
regenerating health on online fps-games. i don't like the fact that you're put at an disadvantage if you meet another enemy after you've killed one.
I prefer health bars with no regenerating health unless there's something that warrants it in the game. Like Crysis on Delta difficulty would be insanely hard without regenerating health. But it makes sense in the game because the suit supplies it, while in a game like CoD4/WaW, Gears or Killzone 2, your health just magically comes back with no real explanation; like you're Wolverine or something.DragonfireXZ95
^This. It kinda makes sense with suits but how the hell are you a human but you're able to regenerate health??? And when it comes to health re-gen I like the Halo method. You can't re-gen all your health but at least you can re-gen a little.
OMG I WAS JUST SHOT IN THE LEG...let me put a band-aide on it from this health kit on the ground and make it better. Both ways with exception to how you pointed out socom does it are kind of silly. The way it works out are games that use health packs just dump 20 of them in an area where a big firefight is. Either don't have health regenerate at all or use regenerating health to keep the flow going imo.
OMG I WAS JUST SHOT IN THE LEG... ohh wait i can just camp till im all better. i like health bars more but i dont like regenerating health bars, i like socoms type health bar when once it goes down it wont come back from camping OR health pack or anything like thatriver_rat3117
Depends on the game.
In general, I don't like the idea that you can be wounded to a near death state, then just hide behind a corner for 5 seconds and magically be fully healed, when in real-life being wounded to near death is going to cause you to bleed out and get closer to dying as time goes on. At the same time, I generally don't like games where you just walk over a health pack and get instantly restored to full health. There needs to be some kind of balance, like where minor injuries heal slowly, but critical injuries cause you to start bleeding out and require first aid (which takes time to apply and can be interrupted by combat) to get back into the regenerating mode.
Granted, this all depends on the game. For something like Unreal Tournament, for example, instant health packs are fine because requiring anything else for healing would slow down the pace of the game, but regenerating health would be dumb because then people could just run to and from firefights to heal and then come back. And for something that takes place way in the future, maybe it makes sense that you could heal with your supersuit/regenerating shield or whatever.
Regenerating for online multiplayer. Both are fine though.Next-Gen-Tec
Dude, you need to change your avatar and your sig.
They both amaze/mesmerize me for minutes at a time and make it hard for me to enjoy the forums :P
I find it funny people write Regenerating Health off as unrealistic while a conveniantly placed healthpack that instantly puts you back at 100% after being shot to pieces is not. Double standard much?
However, there's a bit of truth in the compaints which is the rambo-shoot-crazy-oh-health-is-low-better-take-cover-and-rest-now-oh-im-back-full-RATATATA gameplay.
Conclusion: Don't really care, as long as it fits the gameplay.
[QUOTE="II_Seraphim_II"]Health Regen, bringing noobs to video games since Halo2!moose_knucklerIsn't that only shield regen? Im pretty sure Halo 1 was only shield, Halo 2 its full health regen. Its been a while so I may be wrong :P
Yeah I loved Stalker's health, you had a health bar but you could regenerate it over time very slowly. I felt it was a small part of what made the game so great.I like STALKER's health system. It's med kits and regen.....the health regenerates incredibly slow though.

i prefer regenerating health for some games and a health bar for others.
obviously health bars are better for fighting games, while i find regenerating health more efficient for shooters.
as for action/adventures, it depends. i'd say my favourite health system is MGS4's. snakes health recovers over time, butvery slowly and only when your psyche is high enough, and when you're crouching/prone.
