HD-DVD is the winner in the new gen dvd war. Please read on as i explain myself thouroghly. The general public is pretty stupid. and everyone who owns a new higher quality TV has HD printed some where on the side Not blu-ray. so when going to purchase a New higher quality DVD Player Most of them will pick up a HD DVD player not because they think they like it better but because there used to the name and have heard it everywhere. HD Channels, HD TV's, HD Movies, there even making an HD radio Broadcast! CHRIST! Now anyone who knows anything about this subject knows that theese are none what so ever related to HD DVD but guess who can't and doesnt care to think things through? The other 99% of the popultion. So when it comes down to choosing a DVD format they will go with what they know. Just like sheep. I am a microsoft fan in and out but im not a blind follower to the 360. i can admit the PS3 has a brighter future everyone know's this it's built for the long haul not to captivate everyone in the first couple of years. I also know that Blu-Ray has much more clarity and definition than HD-DVD does and am not afraid to admit but this will not save it from an untimely demise in the next couple of years.

only because the Ps3 counts as a Blu-Ray player, otherwise HD DVD would have owned BR in sales...

Interesting theory, which could turn out to be true. The reality of the HD-DVD v.s Blueray is that the war hasn't really begun. I do not have hard figures in front of me but my instincts tell me that less than 2% of home movie sales are in either format. I'm sure the HD-DVD/Blueray player sales are even lower. Face it, most people are giving up on DVD just yet. This race is just too early to call, IMHO.

your so right. Also Blu-ray has more movies (like double HD-DVDs) and Better advertising.
