Maybe a week ago, i was talking to some system wars poster about Journey. And we got into an argument about whether or not JOURNEY is emotional, whether it can make a man cry. Or if any game, for that matter, can be emotional enough to make someone's eyes tear. I want to extend that argment, because im curious what u guys have to say. For me, Journey was so incredible that in several moments i was overwhelmed with awe. It was beautiful. Literally or figuratively, has any game ever made ur eyes water? Do u think video games are even capable of doing such a thing?

Crisis Core ending, knew what was coming but it was still very well executed.

Here. You can essentially get it for $2. You will then see that in comparison, Journey does nothing to spark emotions

Steam has it for $5

The only time my eyes watered during a game is when, I was in an intense boss fight and could not blink for minutes.

No, no game, movie or tv show has made me cry. Maybe a little sad but never to point of being in tears.

Okay, admittedly I lied. To the Moon didn't make me cry. Came close, though. Probably didn't help that I was kinda tired. I just wanted to be the first to mention it, because there are probably a half-dozen people who were gonna do that.

The Walking Dead did, though. But I'd say To the Moon has the better story.

Well as i said in my post, u dont have to have cried literally. It could have been figuratively, meaning a game was so emotional that u were on the VERGE of tears haha. Some people just arent the crying type, but that doesnt mean they cant be overwhelmed with emotion

I never really liked The Lion King. I mainly disliked the songs. Alan Menken was better at the musical numbers, seriously.

Elton John doesn't know how to write for a musical, and Tim Rice's career has had some really great lyrics and some really not-so-great lyrics. His material with Elton John (The Lion King, Aida), for whatever reason, is not his best work.

I found most of the songs annoying. "Just Can't Wait to Be King" and "Hakuna Matata" bored into my skull and I thought they were the dumbest things I'd ever heard.

The ending of Half-Life 2: Episode 2
when Eli Vance gets killed and the credits are rolling with Alyx crying because her father died.
That is why the fact that Episode 3 wasn't made yet is so annoying.

Edit* I didn't cry but my eyes watered a little bit.

Yeah same. The incinerator scene in toy story 3, the death of the wife in Up, and also for me something about Walle made me very emotional. Pixar movies are great

But FFX and TWD:E5 are the only 2 games thus far to make my eyes water.

Recently, I felt like it with Black Ops 2's Campaign. The opening cutscene:
Seeing David with dead Mason, Raul with his sister, dat music  Later parts in the campaign were also sad.
Mass Effect 2, Suicide Mission:
I accidently let Thane die my first playthrough.
And in 3
Mordin and Legion's Deaths, nuff said
Oh but the ending to Yoshi's Island was just so happy my eyes actually watered, seeing Baby Mario and Luigi going back to their parents was such a touching moment I don't care what any of you haters say this is the greatest platformer, maybe even the greatest game ever made.

I didn't find that part very sad actually.
Especially because the horse doesn't actually die and comes back later.
I found that saddest part to be the very end of the game.
When Wander is sucked into that abyss after he came SO close to saving his girl.
One of the only games to ever move me emotionally was 999. Goddamn what a masterpiece, I have yet to play it's sequel, though I doubt it'll have the same impact as the original, the setting, the freshness, the plot, that game had it all...

The worst part is, I was playing that in freshman year about a month after I had left home for college and come to the other side of the planet to study. When Link leaves Outset, it just wrenched something inside of me, and made me tear up so bad  My roommate must have thought I was weird.

Halo has always managed to be surprisngly emotional for me. Ive always had a strong feeling for mc's connection with cortsna, and some moments in reach were very sad as well. That part when ur one armed girl partner suddenely gets sniped, it took me by such surprise that i was in awe for a sec. And fhe ending was quite sad too! Loved the way it finished. What can i say, im a huge halo fanboy haha, i always love them.

Plenty of times. For this gen though, GEOW 2 comes to mind --
When Dom found Maria.hMDqC.gif
I was in tears. So totally heartbreaking. And of course, more recently being the AC2 intro -- brotherly bonding, awesome view, beautiful theme playing just really set it off for me in a good way.
