Halo vs Doom. What is better Franchise?

PSSsst! All I'm doing here is antagonizing the TC. It isn't serious, I don't care which character he or anyone thinks would actually win.

Doom was good back in the day, but Halo has more quality releases and for a longer period of time. Not to mention all of the content that is continually added to Halo several years after releases to keep it fresh.

Halo murders doom.

Doom 2 wasn't as good as 1, and 3 is pretty meh.

Halo multiplayer is incredible

Only played a Halo game at a friends once (think it was the first one) Didn't really like it too much and when my health started to regenerate...I was like wtf is this bs ??

So yea, DOOM it is. Especially 1/2 & Final. Not nearly as big a fan of 3 and the new one though.

i agree. Halo bring regen health and 2 weapon limit. and that system use in almost every FPS of last generation.

even PC exclusive Crysis have weapon limit and regen health.

Halo is better as a franchise. Doom 3 sucked.

Doom 3 was amazing. almost as good as Half life 2 and Riddick in 2004.

DOOM reboot is masterpiece and easily best game of this gen thought. it might surpassed by Metro Exodus this year.

I'm curious as to why some people think Doom 3 sucks.. The gameplay was good, the weapons felt awesome to shoot, the graphics were amazing, the atmosphere and sound were cool, the pace was good, the secrets were fun to find, the demon designs were awesome (way better than DOOM 2016's enemy designs, imo).

What sucks exactly? That it wasn't fast paced like 1&2? That shouldn't make it suck, just be dissapointing for someone who were expecting to get that.

it's such a long time since i played it i can't really recall why i didn't like it in much detail.

i think i remember it being pretty formulaic - walk into a room, lights go out, monsters emerge, rinse and repeat. i can't really remember much else if i'm honest.

plus, i played it several months after it released. at that point i'd already played far cry and half life 2 which came out the same year. it was hard not to make comparisons as fps and any game would've struggled to compare favourably against those two tbh

Can someone explain to me why Doom 3 is consider the worst Doom game? Doom 3 was my first ever Doom game I played on Xbox before I got into PC gaming. I thought it was the best horror shooter game of it's time, the graphics were freaking awesome, it made me get into Doom series as it is but Doom 2016 is were it's at however. So what was so bad about Doom 3?

Doom 3 was a big disappointment. It did have have nice sound design and the engine and lightning were obviously pretty impressive, but cramped corridor-ish level design, the look and the number of enemies, the weapons, the boring sedate pace of the whole thing were pretty decline for a Doom game.

The thing is M$ killed Halo hype for over releasing games. You want to see another Doom you to see another Metroid Prime from Nintendo but Halo is like meh.

Halo died for me on the OG XBOX, with Halo 2's added multiplayer and shorter campaign (part of the reason I never bought an XBOX ever again). It's sad, because Halo: CE was an excellent game, and the few reasons I purchased the OG XBOX (I was a Shemming at the time)

Now that 343i is at the helm, the franchise has become seeped in garbage.

Halo has more replay for me. I grew up playing doom and doom 2 on pc. I began playing halo with the first game. To me, halo has more replay value and offers a more compete package if coop and competitive mp are figured in.

Just my opinion.

Loved multiplayer in the Halo games, especially Halo 2.

But I still enjoy the classic Doom games to this day, especially so with the never ending mods. And I enjoyed the Doom 4 campaign much more than any Halo campaign.
