The map is actually compressed (If that's the correct word for this sentence). By comparison against GTA IV's map. The latter would look tiny as hell. what throws me off is it doesn't look like there's many roads. The small towns for example, in scale with this map, should probably be fairly largely sized compared to what we've seen in past gta games and yet they don't look like they'd be any bigger than a couple of houses on a few streets.
Um... what is the scale? Because if the roads are to be taken into account, SA was bigger.Zeviander
Rockstar Games has provided several comparisons in regards to the map size of the upcoming multiplatform title, GTA 5. According to a report from the Official Playstation Magazine on May 10, the latest installment of the Grand Theft Auto series is approximately three and a half times bigger than Red Dead Redemption. Moreover, the map size is also larger than both GTA 4 and GTA: San Andreas combined.

It sure doesn't *look* that big though. There must be a lot more detail zoomed in on the city (more side-streets and back lanes, etc) because it looks fairly small.Rockstar Games has provided several comparisons in regards to the map size of the upcoming multiplatform title, GTA 5. What about now?
Look at all that nothingness. San andres all over again; Except worse. Honestly, you better pray to the lord you don't get stuck in the sticks without a ride

How many discs will the 360 version have?

I am so glad that MS now has Blue-Ray!Â
Maybe you will finally get a MGS4 10/10 port after all these years :)
Yeah and it'll still say "please insert disc 3 to proceed" just like Lost Odyssey, even when you install all four discs to the HDD. Changing a disco takes ten seconds, blurry textures, sub hd resolutions and framerate drops never go away ;)[QUOTE="xhawk27"]
Â
Oh you could install the whole game to the Harddrive. ;)

The top area looks quite sparse but I'm fairly certain that it will still be filled with stuff to do. I don't find the notion of an explorable ocean particularly exciting but I'm ready for Rockstar to make me think otherwise.

Some games might do that but Max Payne 3 had two discs and I installed it to the HDD, now only need the one disc in the drive to run the game.Â

Fake it's simply a concept based off the little bit we've seen on the blueprint of the special editions. Like lamprey said part of the city isn't uncovered.

Do all the GTA games take place in islands? Is there no united states/landmass? (Sorry, I never actually played a game from start2end)

Nah its always cities surrounded by an infinite ocean with exception for Red dead redemption where in some case it was mountain, sometime an impossible to cross river and so on.

That could be there version of Catalina.Â

What's Catalina? (Not actual IRL Catalina, I know what that is.)

Max Payne 3 still requires you to insert disc 2 once you get halfway through the story though. And I was thinking how it's weird on the left side of where you circle it cuts off and below it fades like it's unexplored, kind of makes me wondered if this was Photoshop'd.Fake it's simply a concept based off the little bit we've seen on the blueprint of the special editions. Yeah, it's still a very good "fake" when you look at it quickly though.
