GTA V almost confirmed for PS4

The Demand for the Playsation 4 is literally unprecedented from a console, ever. GTA says they'll port it if that's where the demand is.

New versions of Grand Theft Auto V could come to other platforms, if that's where the gamers are, says Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick.

The publisher boss would not be drawn on whether the game will arrive on PC and next-gen consoles, or not, which isn't surprising as the firm leaves the marketing and announcement decisions down to the individual labels.

But when asked about launching GTA V on other machines, he did tell MCV that the firm is in the business of releasing its games on the devices that its fans own - whether that's PC, Xbox One, PS4, tablets or wherever these gamers may end up in the future.

"If that is where consumers are, absolutely [we'll release our game on that]," he said.

"But we wouldn’t drive them there, we would just be there if they are there. That is why we have a companion app for our basketball title, NBA 2K Everywhere. It is wherever consumers want to be.

"We are not in the hardware business, we don’t have any dog in that hut, we just want to be where the consumer is."

Not surprised. Would be nice actually though.

So by that statement it confirms a PC version too right?

I think they said something along the lines of 'We'll bring it to PC if there is demand for it' before, which prompted the petitions.

They sold, what, over 35 million copies? Just release the damn game on PC and next-gen consoles already...

Personally, I just wish they would announce it and quit toying with everyone. It's obvious, unless this company just downright hates money, that they will release it on PC, Xbox One and PS4. So just shut up and do it.

I would take it now in its current state with AA 1080p and better draw distance

agreed, it's not even like it's a huge secret. I believe gta 4 did rather well for them on PC as well, that and the fact every major GTA game has appeared on the PC. The reason for the hold is most likely so they have a chance to sell more console copies.

Unless they come out with enough new content that wont be available on last gen consoles then I think I'll pass. A little too late now. I've already played this game to death on PS3 and now its really boring.

Makes sense to bring GTA V to next gen considering that Episodes will probably be coming soon.

@jhonMalcovich: ds2 would have significant delays to go next gen from software stated. One last hurrah for last gen and maybe if we're lucky they'll develop demons souls2 for ps4, ds3 will definitely get developed for ps4 xbone

what possible reason could you have to not throw a few bucks into a port when you are almost guaranteed to make a profit on it.

Would love to play GTA V on a more powerful platform, with better performance and visuals and maybe new content.

Glad I held out. Didn't really bother getting it knowing next gen was on the horizon.

Already imagining the hilarity that will hit this board if there's either resolution or frame rate disparity between PS4 and XB1. A pattern has been forming ever since both launched so many good threads in the making. ;)

Probably paying 3rd party to port pc version while they work on ps4/xbone. Rockstar always treating pc bad for some reason. Like they are to punish pirate or something. I don't understand.

I would probably actually buy it if it was on PS4. Ive never played it though. Im curious but a technical bump where it ran a lot better might be enough to make me buy it.

I still have some money reserved for GTA V PC. Get on with it already!

I wouldnt mind playing it on my new PS4, but as I said in another thread, the rumors of it coming in June is too far away for me to care. If it were coming next month, I might almost care, but June/July? Nope. I bought the game at midnight launch, and havent put the disc into my system since literally October 2nd.

Maybe if it comes with a meaty expansion ala Gay Tony or TL&TD.

I would buy it ONLY if it has a new character to play like in TLAD and TBOGT.

Hmm what report was it here in SW few days ago that said PC only sold 3% of a game ...with those numbers it is not worth port it to PC, hermits just pirate:P

GTA V was a great game, but online got extremely boring after two months. Don't think I'd shell out cash for a PS4 port.

I'd rather they focus on GTA 6 tbh, new gen new GTA unless they get a seperate studio to port it although GTA IV on the PC was a mess at launch and handled by another studio without much R* North involvement from what i recall.
