Can't vote because it didn't really fail but the damn overheat fan would turn on after 5 minutes of use and that thing was loud. Sold my original PS3 after FFXIII was announced for xbox 360, I just didn't have a need for it anymore.
Nope. Launch 60GB and still working beautifully. Yet my girlfriend's PS3 had it's blu-ray drive fail on her and we had to send it back to Sony. She had bought it used after trading in her 360 and the one she had picked up wasn't something I'd agree on keeping. Yet the one Sony sent back looked great and hasn't given her any issues.
5 yes 3 no. This poll is already going downhill.PS2_ROCKS
Either the truth or lemmings are hitting the "Yes" option
This is SW, it's gonna go that way for either this or 360 thread.Watch the fanboys who haven't purchased a PS3 click 'yes' on the poll

Exactly my feeling. Of all the places to conduct this poll...Gamespot System Wars. We all know everyone in here will vote legit ;)Watch the fanboys who haven't purchased a PS3 click 'yes' on the poll

Seems like that fanboys are clicking yes since i dont see post saying yes.punkrocker163Because it's impossible that the same thing could never have happened in the Game Informer poll AMIRITE? Surely THAT wasn't biased and 100% accurate RIGHT? So much for the 54% BS
We have a family owned electronic repair and salesservice and I can tell you I have had 5 PS3's that have ran out of warranty -->3 disc read error and 2 hdd problems. PS3's will mess up but its rare nothing to be concerned over.

If you believe that, then
Same goes with the 360 thread too maybe. Just the lems are a little pissy today ;)
Same goes with 360 poll and the Game Informer survey that IGN shamelessly reported as fact that everyone credulously believed...When my friend gave me his PS3 to me before he traveled(He never uses his PS3, only plays with his 360). I was so damn exited to finnaly play MGS4. 2 months later, the blu ray lens died. And he bought it 2 years ago, so the warranty is over. Sad days...
And i thought PS3 wont break down like the 360...
My launch 60GB system is still doing great! :D
Going on almost THREE years without a problem! :D
Watch me get the YLOD next time I turn my PS3 on.
I hope not!

It's funny... I only know 3 people who have had their PS3's die on them (one was 60 gig, 2 were 80 gigs). The one with the 60 gig had his blue ray player die on him, got it fixed, then a few months later his PS3 wouldnt accept disks and he had to get it fixed again. Both times he had to pay because he took it to a repair shop instead of sending it to Sony... but then again it was probably his fault since he leaves it on almost 24/7 (and still does), keeps it in a hot room, and he placed it in an area that is not very well ventilated. One of the ones with the 80 gig died because again, he kept it on a carpet floor with no ventilation and it was hot. He got it repaired for free. Those two didn't surprise me and imo it wasn't Sony's fault because they didn't take care of their PS3's properly... but my third friend is a different story. He kept his PS3 in a cool room, in a well ventilated area, and he took very good care of it. The blue-ray player died one day randomly but again, Sony fixed it for free. Those are the only three people I know who have had PS3's die on them and imo the PS3 is a very reliable console, but like all electronics you have to take care of it properly if you want it to last a long time. My 40 gig PS3 has been working just fine since I bought it last year and the only problems it has ever given me was with Fallout 3, but that wasn't the PS3's fault.
Yep, I'm such a fanboy. You caught me. Now, excuse me while I go worship my Bill Gates statue...Look at the fanboys hitting yes.

Oh wow, look at that. Apparently the PS3 has a 38% failure rate. According to cows, this figure must been completely accurate because surveys don't lie.
my 40 gig has never skipped a beat, my launch day 360 is noisy but has never failed either, I'll tell you what has failed though, this poll :p
