First Impressions for Red Dead Redemption running on Switch

I cant believe we live in a time where Red Dead and GTA are on a Nintendo console. Whats next, Manhunt? But how good can the Switch run this beast? We all know Switch can only run 2005 graphics, so no way in hell this weak portable device cant run this game past 10fps.

Well of course it should be a solid port for the Switch as RDR is 2 gens old anyway.

If anyone buys this at full price, they deserve to get laughed at and shamed.

The fact that Double Eleven was able to port this to modern Nvidia (Switch) and AMD (PS4) architecture leads me to believe they are one step closer to a PC version.

I'll stick to xbox. 4k. Free or cheaper. No to mention 16x AF. AF's underrated.

I mean it should run well on the switch. It's a 360 game. It would be a shoddy port if it didn't run well on the switch. Still interested to see the inevitable DF analysis on it though.

On a side note: I wonder what devs could squeeze out of the 360 and PS3 now if they were to go back and try some miracle ports. I mean ID should have builds of Doom and Doom:E internally for the PS3, WIIU and 360 too just as a matter of principal :P.

How about the witcher 3? How would that run on those systems? How would they fare against the switch version?

$50 is ridiculous, but y'all just wait for Nintendo re-releasing 1-5 years old titles for $70 a pop cuz it says Switch 2 on the box.

Look, I'm happy for people that are happy about this...but frankly it's kind of silly to port a game like this for something like the Switch and then sell it for the price of a newly released game.

I mean, does it have any extra features? A developer commentary mode? Extra missions, terrain, etc? Is there any sort of value added to it?

@mrbojangles25: Its not a port, they remastered it. They show the difference in the video.

All the assets and draw distance/pop-in are basically identical to the 360 version. So no, it's not a "remaster", it's just a port. Both the Switch and PS4 versions are ports. I guess for Switch it's good that it actually runs smoothly and almost matches the PS4 version. That makes the PS4 version lazy.

The initial price is a joke, but obviously not all gamers had a PS3/360 or maybe even if they did, might have skipped the game. The Switch port actually makes sense as I'd bet a higher % of Switch players never played the original. Switch version probably got the most it could out of the port as well, considering it's almost on par with the PS4. PS4 version is a bit more questionable, just because it probably had more room for substantial upgrades and Rockstar pretty much only did the bare minimum.

Any game that can run on the X360 or PS3 can run on the Swich. No surprise there.
