Final Fantasy XIV

Anyone else kind of disapointed? Just another MMORPG. You'd think they'd have learned, I mean at least call it Final Fantasy Online 2 or something instead of XIV. I can hardly beleive Square even had the gaul to announce it with all three of the Final Fantasy XIII games still unreleased.

Heres to another five or more years before we get the next real Final Fantasy.

At first when they announced it I was like :O! Then I saw online and I was like :(.

The only MMO I'm really looking forward to is The Old Republic.

I was expecting FFV13, but then he said FF14. I was like WTF. And then I knew for a fact it would be another online game when I saw the footage.

How is it hypocritical? They are completely different types of games :| And many, many people dislike MMORPGs.

In fact, it would be more hypocritical to praise it, as console owners bash MMORPGs here all the time. Anyway, I'm guessing this will come out on the PC as well. If it doesn't, I'll eat something nasty ;)

People are calling this game "fail" already even though the previous one almost got AAA. Thats just idiotic. If that's the case, im calling every single game announced for X360 fail on principle. I dont like Splinter Cell so fail. Mass Effect was kinda boring so fail. I hate Alan Wake's jacket so fail! Natal sounds to much like naval so fail! the problem people had with FFXI was it was NOT user friendly. you cant be a 12 year old boy and pick it up and play.

U need macros u need skill and u need patience.

Most of the people dont, WoW basically went to casuals which basically let all those people who want 2 spam buttons, spam.

I was actually happier to see that it is an MMO. I've played FFXI for about 3 years, and as cool as it was to see FF14, I didn't really get excited until I saw the "online" bit at the end. I phoned my friend who is also a massive XI fan straight away.

I played FF11. It was garbage it takes you light years to do anything. Most the servers are vastly unpopulated. Lonely the entire time. The areas are very repetative with nothing interesting to look at, just huge barren wastelands. You can delevel, yes thats right DEffing LEVEL when you die, you spend quite possiblely 5 hours grinding xp to get 1 level only to die by a super human overpowered godlike Goblin that you happened to agro and these gobs are frikkin everywhere you go. The story if you manage to accomplish one of the tedious long as hell hard as hell missions, the story is just damn uninteresting, it doesn't pull you in like most FF games would. The character models look like crap, the character custimization is crap. WoW has more depth in it than FF11.

Now here we are god knows how years later, with a frikkin FF14 announcement yay?! NO. It's online. It could of been an epic FF singleplayer experience but no it got butchered as soon as you saw the word "online". It got pwned. Way to shoot yourself in the foot Square-Enix.

Im excited by it. They should have learned alot of lessons from FF11 and other MMO's on currently on tha market. Untill i see some gameplay il try to contain my excitment as much as i can, these games take aggges to come out

That chart that shows second doesnt really instill much confidence in FF14. Im not seeing this game going anywhere or drawing more PS3 owners in.
