In before someone says that Switch is dying because of the big drop.

Media Create is tomorrow btw, for both week 52 and week 1.

Even a King couldn't remain king forever. It was pretty expected PS4 at some point will be dethrone by a new Nintendo console at some point. Kudos to the Switch in Japan.

Pretty much this. Seeing the Switch would be number one in Japan was a given and obvious anyways.

First of all, week 52 is always down (though less so so Sony); no idea what gave you the idea that New Year's is a bigger retail holiday than Christmas. Second, the "last week" numbers there are from Media Create. Finally, the last week number he posted didn't combine SKUs so you have to do that manually before comparing.

Really, this thread shouldn't have been posted. OP should have waited for Media Create numbers.

Then use the Famitsu numbers from the previous week.

The data was swapped in then. Look at your own ResetEra link.

No, that's what you did. The week 51 numbers in the ResetEra chart are from Famitsu. The ones you used are from Media Create. Look: https://www.resetera.com/threads/media-create-sales-week-51-2018-dec-17-dec-23.89476/

You both fucked up (you and NintendoEverything). All that I'm asking is that you switch the comparison from the previous week over from Media Create's numbers to Famitsu. There's no good reason to use Media Create's week 51 in this comparison. You were both just being lazy by copying and pasting. It makes things more confusing.

@KBFloYd: I don't think New Years is a big shopping week in Japan - everyone is too busy travelling to their home cities for New Years festivals. I was there over New Years and the trains were packed but the shops were not.

The first week of Jan might be a lot bigger, since that's when the clearance sales start.

Also, whoa, Nintendo games have got huge legs. Splatoon 2 is still in the top 8, which is crazy!
