This image is quite large, so I suggest clicking this link (open in a new tab so you can discuss about it here).

Every single image in this comparison is a direct-feed screenshot (720p). Source

Call me a fanboy but I think GT5P looks a teeny bit better. They're both great though, can't deny that.

Forza's default view has always been a little closer to the cars which makes them stand out a little more IMO. But GT's lighting is better. Forza's cockpit is probably one of the worst IMO.

Let me remind you that GT5P runs with 4X Anti-alising @ 720p. These images were not touched up in any way.

I look and I look and I honestly can't really see a difference, except there are people in the GT5 one. Is this really what people have been arguing about like a bunch of mentally challenged monkeys for the past two weeks?

That's not what makes a good racing game... The simplicity of GT and the pure enjoyment out of collecting cars and driving them on very well designed tracks is what makes GT better for me.

Other than some aliasing in F3 and some lighting differences, both look about the same.

But then again, racing games are about more than just graphics.

Actually, that is what makes a good racing game. You are not like normal a racing game fan, you are a car porn enthusiast/motorsports journalism simulator fan. Forza is clearly the superior racing game. GT is about driving one car around a track and ogling them in your garage and in pictures/replays. All that's missing is a way to write magazine articles and do comparisons.

I'd agree with him that Forza is a better racing game. It's about customization and competition. Gran Turismo is a better driving game. Collecting cars and admiring them while driving around the tracks (preferably without other cars getting in the way).

GT Prologue looks better, the cars in Forza still don't have that realistic look to them. I've never been able to put my finger on it. They look good, just not quite as good. The interiors really look fake on Forza as well. Especially the Audi interior looks really wrong on Forza without the red display. But really the biggest difference I see between the two is 16 cars on the track for GT and 8 cars for Forza. You would think with half the cars it would look amazing.

Which comes down to the same old thing, if you enjoy the aesthetics of cars, get GT5, if you enjoy the performance of cars, get FM3.

Forza has the 360FPS physics remember. Forza 3 does look fantastic, but GT5 has better lighting.

This just shows why it takes so long for Polyphony to put out a game. They clearly are dedicated in giving us the most out of our car games, they are not pushing out games just so they can meet their quota.

Environment looks better in forza, especially the mountains. Cars look about the same with maybe a slight advantage to gt5, the zoom on the interior and exterior shots was different for each game though so hard to tell.

I would agree if FM series was on a decline but that's not the case, FM3 is a AAA title through and through.

Neither are Turn 10, they just want me and the other fans to play games not wait years on end for pretty visuals.

People get sucked in to how Forza seems to over suggest physics

I like racing my GTR 34 in GT4 on Tsukuba and accuratelyhitting times or 1:05 or high 1:04 (Just like the car does in real life in Best Motoring). But on Forza the Sub 1:03 times are unrealistic. But people overlook this since there are marks off the tires, screeching and car vibration etc

I had my doubts, but after using the cockpit i actually like the view, it's more exciting to race from somehow.
