Early Speculation on Next Gen Console Launch Exclusives

I know we are early here and much we don't know. But what we can do is speculate just like any sports show or other gaming podcast.

Xbox Scarlet Launch:

A new IP from one of the new studios.

I think the following 3 will be launch titles or released as 2 sku's on PS4 as well (Double Milking of course)

Last of Us 2

Ghosts of Tsushima (Sorry if spelled wrong)

Death Stranding

Grand Turismo

That's just a start and seriously wonder what you guys think. Let's have some good clean fun Warriors.

There is also horizon zero dawn 2 which will certainly be a ps5 near-launch title.

What is a 'next gen console' at this point. It's not like xbox or PS4 run on special magical hardware they just run of the shelf PC X86 components.

There are no more generations just iterations.

Not saying that's a good or a bad thing, it just is what it is.

Want that mid/end gen, when it can look at its best.

@XVision84: GG hired some key people from the Rainbow Six team which leads me to believe another KZ may be up next.

@Random_Matt: Sony's going to want at least one exclusive from their first party studios near ps5 launch. The other exclusives that could also be on PS5 aren't incentive enough because people would already be able to play them on PS4.

If horizon 2 releases in 2020 alongside PS5 (or soon after in 2021) it would have had 3+ years development time. That's the only sure thing we know, Bloodborne 2 is speculation and fromsoft said they're not currently working on it (even though I wish they were).

Console launch exclusive on Xbox? LOL. Now that is funny stuff.

@blackhairedhero: I'm thinking that they got a 2nd team working on a longer term killzone reboot. I would expect them to work off the momentum of Horizon's successful release and come out with Horizon 2 rather than wait too long until hype dies down (which already happened to killzone).

They've got nothing to lose by releasing killzone later (since it isn't in public's mind/recent memory) but they can lose out by waiting on Horizon 2.

Uncharted 5 as a PS5 launch title. Sadly, not done by ND but still a good game.

Guerilla is working on a new IP.Racing game.

They've hired multiplayer specialists for that new game, but also potentially for Horizon 2.

I expect at least one new IP from MS within 6 months of their next platform's launch.

Yeah, exactly. I personally think it's a good thing.

But it will be interesting to see how it all plays out, in particular with Sony. We know MS is going the whole backward/forward compatible route, but Sony I'm not so sure. I think PS5 will be BC, but will games like Horizon 2 release on PS4? I'm sceptical.

Stop living in your deluded fantasy that seeks to make non-sense that MS preached this gen a thing Sony is going to follow.

Sony has made it clear they are dedicated to true generational splits, as in games developed from the ground up for their next generation system without any compromises of the current hardware.

MS can do whatever they want but it's funny how you're desperately trying to include Sony into MS's game plan.

It doesn't even sound like you guys know what generations are.

Stick to talks about what MS may do instead of trying to include Sony into your idiotic iteration talk because you fools bought into MS's $500 door stop expecting a revolution and you don't want to let go of the fact that you wasted your money on a soon to be replaced device.

@hrt_rulz01: I don't know why any exclusives in the first few years of PS5 not release on PS4. It'll probably be similar to PS4 and Pro right now. And I think the game will be compatible with both systems(don't have to buy two copies). I think they might do some remasters of older games and charge full price, but who knows. At this point I'm thinking the PS5 will be powerful but in reality not look that much better than the Pro(better textures, and frame rate, higher resolution)(I guess that's kinda obvious... Just saying the jump won't be as noticable as PS3 to PS4)

The launch line up for PS5 will actually be pretty close to what the TC has listed. but it's not coming out at the same time.

Bloodborne 2 is a possibility for launch TLOU 2 and another and will likely release day and date with PS5 in 2020.

GT5 is mostly likely a no go at launch (we're talking a true next gen game here for perfectionists like PD) I'd like to be wrong but I highly doubt it...look how long Sport took.

Death Standing wont release at launch but a few months after release, if PS5 is released March - May, Death Stranding will release Sep 2020. If PS5 releases Nov 2020 then Death Stranding will release March -June 2021.

Ghost of Tsushima is releasing holiday 2019 not at PS5 launch.

I predict that next gen launch titles will be half-baked tech demos rushed out the door like they are every single generation.

I also predict that OP is dragging games like Ghost of Tsushima and Death Stranding into this because he is desperate to convince us that PS5 is launching soon.

I think the three games you mentioned will be forward compatible.

They're next generation compared to their predecessors. We saw how "next gen" the ps4 proved itself with the release of BF4. 720p (if not under), 24 player @ 30fps (and sometimes lower) with half the content vs 900p (I know not a full 1080p resolution, but higher than 720p), 64 player @ 50-60 fps with all of the content.

Trust me bud, I know a guy who knows a guy who is acquainted with a guy who hired someone that takes care of Shawn Layden's pets.

PS5 is coming in 2020, with Horizon 2 as a launch title, and it'll run all PS4 games in native 4k 60fps. You heard it here first.
