Literally the difference between the SSD’s will be a couple seconds. You won’t even hardly notice the difference.

Doom Eternal is quite awesome btw. If you haven’t played it, I highly recommend. Butter smooth on One X and for a current gen game it loads pretty fast on current hardware. Absolutely a beautiful game. One of the best graphical games this generation. Which is remarkable since it’s running at 60fps. So it’s no surprise it loads in a few seconds on Series X.

So what about the PS5, then? What? What did you say, a 4sec loading screen instead of 5? That's so great. Sure was worth shaving off 1sec while also losing 3tflops in the gpu department and have an inferior cpu. Dat 1sec is big deal btw, and its what tormentos always wanted, anyways.

You can but they don't get utilized as much as they would on a PC due to the crappy CPUs and the OG PS4 and Xbox One using SATA 2. The PS4 and Xbox One really were bottlenecked by their CPUs which is why the same 5400 RPM HDD consoles use on a PC would load games faster due to the better CPUs.

Awesome. These faster loading times are going to be such a breath of fresh air. Really looking forward to playing Monster Hunter World: Iceborne on this thing. I absolutely love the game but it has some lengthy load times.

Loading in 5 secs is why I'm not buying any new games until Series X/S trying the outer worlds on xbox one is painful with the load times.

its going to more than just load faster. fact is no one understands this. with i/o through puts of both machines will change the way developers think about making there games. we won't see this until they stop developing for both systems. every developer is using the i/o speeds to bring in more data and dump it just as fast to bring in more data. they will bring in more assets in a screen by screen bases.

less of the game will have to sit in system memory at a time etc. because it can stream that fast as well.

it allows these systems to stream in more data at a time.

im going to get slack from people in here for saying this but the facts are there on the website from developers that are making these games. saying that the ssd i/o through puts is doing more than just loading faster for these games.
