i laugh at the economic downfall, serves stock brockers right imo but this thread isnt about that, i think that 299 would be a huge turning point in this yearÂ
i have a feeling this new "price drop" is just some stupid insider bogus info to keep people from buying the ps3 for a short time while people "anticipate" a lower price. its happened before in the world of business.
um....wont bother me i have the 60gig....if they do make a cheaper model and you still complain after you buy it my first response will be "serves you right ya cheap bastard, GET A JOB!!" yep....
Maybe if PS3 was launched in 2005 as originally planned, without Blu-ray and $299 price-tag (like PS2 launch, and PSX launch) Sony would be winning this generation.

When i get a ps3 which will be in a few months ill be getting the 80gb. Who wants to buy a crapped down ps3? I don't.

WOW, you sure are late to the ballgame aren't you. The 20gig version was already here and is gone.
Oh and I will be getting the 40gig version. I see no point in getting the 80gig. It is just a waste of money. I don't need BC for two reason, I have a PS2 and I hardly ever play it.
I never had a PS2.. so without the backwards compatibility.. a PS3 isn't worth it..
I'll have to wait until the 80gig falls within a reasonable price range.

WTF. That just doesn't make a lick of sense. If you never had a PS2, that means you don't have PS2 games. So WTF would you care if it had BC if your not going to being using the feature anyways....................DUHH!!!!!!!!!
I just bought a 40 gig PS3 in December. I just love those Sony guys. PS3 is set to drop every 4 months now. Just shows how confident Sony is with how their well their system is doing in America.
I see this happing very soon. I work at Blockbuster and one of our magazines came in and it was saying that Part of WB deal to go Blu Ray only was partly if Sony dropped the price of the PS3. If they drop it to 299, the 360 and Wii are all in the same boat. All are great buys but I would have to say the wii is somewhat of a rip off. Not trying to insult the Wii I own one but if the PS3 is only 50 more and close to the same with the 360 well. need i say any more
