No, I don't because I paid in value to the price tag in games, so I am content with it.ArisShadowstwice over for me it could have been close to the ps3's launch price and it would have been worth it
just who are the wii buyers these days? Are mom/dads/grandmas/sisters/girlfreinds are really the actual audience for the wii?
Nintendo made billions by rehasing the GC and overcharging and fooling mom/dads by makingit seem cheaper than PS3/360
But who can hate on nintendo making that DOUGH?
also the 20 GB 360 is also $200.
Im not saying the wii is a bad system, im just saying if you can get a 360 for as cheap, or almost as cheap as a Wii, would you rather buy a 360?
not at all i have a PC and friends who i see in personalso the 20 GB 360 is also $200.

I hope they release the new Pikmin next year!
That game is what i see is,or should be Nintendo's flagship title.

well forthis gen and the previous one... i never had one complaint about their first party. So I'm guessing the next pikmin will also be pwnage.
Hell, if they add Pikmin with Wii controls. in my opinion it would work great with the console.
And maybe if were lucky, a new Zelda game for next year aswell:)

im looking forward to MH3, DQX, Arc Rise Fantasia, Kizuna, and err... the new mothership tales which is definitely gonna be mentionned at the upcoming jump festa event which is in a matter of weeks. Add a new zelda announcement and the ps3 games... I'm a happy soul.
The Wii is seriously lacking at the moment. It's expensive, and there haven't been any really good games released for it for ages. I think it's pretty lame, Nintendo seems to be on a mission to get as much money with as little effort as possible. They keep re-releasing GC games but with motion controls and charge full price for them! Disgusting. Also the whole motion sensing controls have proved to often become a negative element of many games, restricting the enjoyment of many games due to unnecessary, clunky control systems. I used to love nintendo, but I feel pretty disgusted with the way nintendo is conducting itself at the moment. tooplanx*Looks at the amount of AE/AAE games that came out this year* Yeah...no. For me it isn't, but for some it is.
No. There are more than enough quality games to make it worth the purchase price. I've been very happy with mine, purchased almost 3 years ago for the original list price. And that was before MP3 and SMG.
yes, but that is until 2009 comes around. Nintendo can always get me back they just have to show me the games I love.too_much_eslimSO sad 2009 came around and after PunchOut I can't think of anygame I want to p[lay for this system . Come on Zelda 2010.
Compared to upgrading an existing PC the mainstream consoles are a rip-off unless you want to play exclusives.
The value of a console is based on its exclusives.
Wii has awesome exclusives. And to be honest some of the most interesting games released this gen, even if they are not mainstream AAA's.
Price to entertainment value -wisesalxis
And that right there is the only thing that matters. The hardware of the console is largely irrelevant - you buy a console to play games (or, in the PS3's case, you might buy it as a Blu-Ray player). Given that, the only thing that matters is: Do you enjoy the content the console/Blu-Ray player is giving you? Is that entertainment good enough to justify the price tag? That's all there is to it. Of course, the hardware may result in interesting games, but even then, it's that interesting game that matters, not the hardware.
Yeah, it's a total rip-off. The Wii may be cheap for other people but there is really hidden costs. I will tell you the Hidden costs below:
Wiimote batteries– This will suck your money whenever you run out of batteries. You can solve this by buying a recharger.
Electricity– The Wii never turns off. Instead, it is in standby mode all the time when it is not on. This will use electricity which may require money wasted.
Gasoline– You will waste more gasoline to get batteries and games which will be more expensive than the retail price.
Injuries– If you get hurt from playing the Wii, you may get injuries which will make it more expensive.
Below I will tell you the real price for the Wii
$250 – Wii
$100 – Batteries
$050 – Electricity
$200 – Gasoline
$600 – Grand Total
$050 – To cure injuries from the Wii
$650 – Grand Total if you got injuries fom the Wii
The Wii is very expensive itself.

You must be kidding? What your saying is just ridiculous, this is honestly one of the most absurd claims I have seen on System Wars.
No. Just buy a recharger and you solve Batteries and Gasoline. You can also unplug your Wii so Electricity price is gone. $350 saved but of course the whole post is fail. Also injuries? You got to be stupid if you get hurt while playing the Wii.Yeah, it's a total rip-off. The Wii may be cheap for other people but there is really hidden costs. I will tell you the Hidden costs below:

No, not at all.
Also, the 360 is not $150. If you buy that, you have to buy memory cards or a hardrive, and I'm guessing you are paying for Live too. Also, there's the possibility of you needing a $100 Wi-Fi adapter.

Your kidding, right? :|

unless the only thing you have ever purchased in your life time is a ps3 that sony lost money on this is a funny statement. 99.999% of items sold on the market are sold at a profit, why else would anyone make or sell something that would cause them a lossYes, in that given the technology Nintendo could sell it for far far less than they are.

The Wii is sold at a massive profit. Which is a bit weired considering console makers traditionally try to make money from the software not the hardware.
On the other hand I recognise it's sold at this price because it can, Sony did it with the PS2, when the competition had dropped the price below £120, they where still selling at over £170.
But with the Wii costs now £165 on Amazon and given the technology (a slightly more powerful GC with a new controller), it's likely more than half it's cost is profit.

thats a lot of assumption and still not the point, 200 is a fine price for a console. its the price point where i purchased my ps1, ps2, gamecube and N64. for this kind of good its a fine price.[QUOTE="Darth_DuMas"][QUOTE="surrealnumber5"] unless the only thing you have ever purchased in your life time is a ps3 that sony lost money on this is a funny statement. 99.999% of items sold on the market are sold at a profit, why else would anyone make or sell something that would cause them a losssurrealnumber5

Is it worth it in terms of games, probably, it's up to the buyer. In terms of technology, not really.
