It's currently at $4.4 million with 11 days to go. I haven't donated yet, but need to. The $60 special backer-only case for the PS4 physical game is the way to go for me. Do I think it will hit $10 million? I still think it's possible. Call me crazy. The last few days will be very interesting. What do YOU think, SW? I ask you because you are the fortune tellers of time.

doubt it

they probably should have set the goal higher and been more transparent about sony's role and the use of kickstarter funds from the beginning

lol No and It's their own fault too with a shitty campaign. The only right thing they did with this was the E3 stage announcement.

Look at the Bloodstained KS page in comparison to Shenmue 3's.

Even if Shenmue 3 got it right, I seriously doubt they would be doing that much better.

-Bloodstained is the promise of reviving a dead yet very popular genre.

-Shenmue 3 is the promise of an old game series that very few people played.

People who never played Shenmue (a lot of people) have no reason to donate to the kickstarter. I've never played Shenmue, so I don't know if those games are actually good. I think Shenmue fans need to set their expectations realistically. It's nice that a sequel to a 14 year old game is getting made at all.

No fuckin way. NO. FUCKING. WAY.

People decided to back games that have a chance of getting made and finished on time without Sony hiding behind a corner.............with a club.

Unlikely, but it doesn't matter. Already crossed the 2Mill. Now, unleash all the Shenmue 3 goodness.

It really shouldn't. Kickbackers are too trigger happy.

I think most shenume fans(including myself) just want to see the conclusion to the story. Hell i fully expected them to forget developing a game and just release a animated movie instead.

I wouldn't doubt it.

SONY is on a ROLL and gamers just might respond by golly.

its at 4.5 with more than an week left. seeing how most kickstarters get a massive surge of backers in the final days of the campaign it should have no problem reaching 5 million.

but 10? not unless afew millionares are feeing very generous

Aren't there any trust fund babies who are "Shenmue" fans? If so, we need 'em!

Zero chance. Kind of a shame, seeing as the Kickstarter got shafted by Kotaku's misinformation article on Sony's role. Even so, it likely would've kept more momentum with a better overall campaign and them actually asking for the full amount they wanted.

IDC really. Do what they can with what they get. As long as I get to continue the Shenmue story eventually, I'm still way ahead on this overall.

Doesn't look like it, doesn't help that it's skipping Xbone, which is funny since the OG Xbox actually had a Shenmue game while PS2 and PC didn't get either.

No way, but I think 6 millions are possible which is great for such a niche game, it tripled its original pledege and broke most records. I guess these are very strong points to encourage Sony to invest heavily in it.

It will reach + 5 mil. But not much more.

Although I can see it going to 10+ mil after the kickstarter campaign though..if there's enough incentive.

Not gonna happen. But if everything goes right and last few days bring a lot of money then they should have enough to make it closer to what they envisioned. Not as big as they originally planned but still big enough. They can also secure extra funds by launching the game on Early Access. Later they can always add stuff in Enhanced Edition once the original version is out for a year or so, just like Wasteland 2 and Divinity Original Sin. It's much easier to publish games these days.

$10 million is an unrealistic goal at this point. A more realistic goal would be $6 million.

Broken Age cost 6 million to make, a 2D adventure game

Shenmue 3 is going to struggle with just 5.
