nah almost half of 08 has passed

Meh, last year wasn't so great. A couple decent titles and the rest were okay-meh.

This year all genres are getting great titles, even some long dormant genres such as fighting and adventure are getting some kickass games this year. JRPGs, platformers, even (more) FPS are coming out and they all look on par with last year's releases.

Halo 3 was pretty much crap compared to the other top fps released that year. so 'nuff said.

umm I think you forgot BioShock, Mass Effect, Crysis, Uncharted and The Orange Box to name a few. 07 was amazing for gaming. Oh and Halo 3 didnt suck, check out the scores.

when it comes to pc i think this year is gonna be better Starcraft II, Stalker clear skies, Left 4 Dead, Project Offset, Project Origin, Grid, Sins of Solar Empires, Maybe burnout will come out this year, Total War, Spore, Warhammer, Mass Effect, Battlefield Heroes, and lots of mods for crysisadamosmaki

Didn't say Fallout3 OWNS Mass Effect. Didn't say Mass Effect was bad. I said Fallout3+Fable2> Mass Effect. Why? because mass effect being AA, has the potential to be outdone by at least ONE of the two big WRPGs this year. It's not hard to see, 2 quality potential games >1. It's just mathematics.
