Maybe it's a generational thing, but I never got the infatuation with cosmetics. I would rather just earn real abilities and skills. It's not to say that I dislike cosmetics, it's just not something that I consider very important in multiplayer progression.

What about you, SW? Do you care about earning cosmetics in multiplayer games?

Not really in it for the cosmetics in certain MP. It's really a take or leave kind of thing for me.

Doesnt matter too much. It's better than nothing though.

But if I have to have progression in Multiplayer games. I would much, much, much rather have progression in cosmetics than actual gameplay affecting stuff.

Keep ALL abilities and skills baseline. Having to unlock most characters is a easy way to get me to quit. Whehter it is Dead By Daylight, anything from Riot Games and so on.

Yes, otherwise the game is boring and lacks diversity. Get with the fackin times old yellers. Like I want to play online and look just like every Tom, Dick, and Harry. Eww.

Well, technically Warframe is a multiplayer game, right? Even though I play it 99% solo.

I've bought Deluxe skins for 11 frames (not counting Oberon, because I only bought one for him to replace his hideous default look), and Tennogen for 3. Video game is a visual medium, "Fashionframe" is a thing, and I just like things to look good. That said, I have a fairly minimalistic approach to it; I prefer simplicity over bling.

And yes, my avatar is one of those 11 Deluxe skins I bought; it's the Ivara Skathi skin. Might not make sense for a frame that's invisible 99% of the time, but screw it, I like it, and that's all that matters.

No.

In a shooter I keep my weapons as authentic as possible. Something a real soldier would use. No golden and no my little pony guns.

Depends on the game really. Something like a fighting, likely going to be playing the same character for upwards of 40-900+ hours.

Having a change of visuals, even if you have to plop down a few rupees, fine. Rather do that than grind magical made up game points.

Likewise as well, probably be spending alot of time in training mode, changing up the backgrounds, which typically includes a soundtrack, can freshen things up.

Stuff like gun models, like.. whatever.

No. I've racked up about 20 hours in Halo and not a single fck has been given about the cosmetics.

If it's a game I like, I enjoy getting everything that the game has to offer, cosmetics included; but not paying extra to get what i can unlock in game, although I admit that I have bought cosmetics and soundtracks in steam for example, from games i like or free to play games as a way to support the developers.

If I can earn a reskin that makes me look like a giant tent, huge hitbox and all, for killing a lot of people while "camping" I would consider that a great honor. Even better if it's a sexy tent with a rainbow Mohawk on the ridge.

But otherwise not interested

Nah, not really. In fact I think it's one of the more negative aspects of modern gaming. Takes the hobby in a direction I'd prefer it did not go.

*To be more specific, I meant in terms of multiplayer and progression and DLC and stuff, I don't like that. If playing a single-player game like an RPG or something and you get rewarded a dye or some clothes or stuff to customize your character, that is fine.

Yes and no. Yes because I do like to change the appearance of my custom made character or of the characters made for the game. No because it isn't why I play the game specifically. I play it to play the game itself, that is just a bonus unless it is a timed event or something like that.

Not enough to buy them, but if I can earn them then it"s a reason to grind for them, and better if I can have fun in the process.

Not if they are monetized.

Prefer games like Dark Souls. Fashion is at the expense of stats, but more important.

Nope, if it's there it's there but I care more about the game mechanics and balance. I'm cool with everyone's guy looking the same like CS used to be, Halo 2.

Depends on the game. I don’t mind cosmetics being in an online game cause it’ll come down to choice if I want to buy them or not. I bought a few of the boxes back when Overwatch first released and it was fun switching to different skins. I personally thought the emotes and spray paints were stupid…

League of Legends is another game I purchased skins for in the past but I played this game back in 2010 😂

Games where u play in squad as some grunt or whatever in normal team deathmatch like CSGO or maybe I guess the recent Halo, no. I mean nobody really cares if you got pink armor or holiday special costume ur still grunt.

Though if its hero based? Yeah. Games like these where u use a specific character a lot its nice to have. Always excited whenever I get Lifeline or maybe Crypto/Bloodhound legendary skins and get jealous of people using limited time hero skins. Apex legend loot box legendary drops is so bad but luckily Belgium bans those lootbox. I grind those battlepass to max then change my IP to Belgium to turn those lootbox into crafting materials to buy the skins. U can buy like 4-5 legendary skin per season which is just great for me cause Lifeline only have 5 legendary skins.

Sure, if I can get them easily and for free. Always fun to customize your stuff.

As soon as they put a price on it though, it can go **** right off.

I would take skins and cosmetics instead of skills, weapons and stats behind a pay wall. Not to mention i mostly play figthing games, so yeah ... i don't mind skins all that much.

No I don’t care. If I want cosmetic shit, I’ll just spend the money, or whatever wait out for the game grind itself to get me to what I want.

I play multiplayer games for the same reason I play games in general. To learn and get better at a group of systems, with the added dynamic or competing on a casual level (obviously not at a professional/for money level).

I’d like my Spartan to have some drip, but that pales in comparison to whether or not the game is fun to play.

Nope. Never use them other than when forced to pick a character at the beginning of a game. Then I never touch it again. I have never bought a MTX and I have never done a grind to earn anything cosmetically.

I don't care about them. I'm more interested in getting kills and helping my team win...

Edit: I gotta admit though - I've been playing Halo Infinite and some of the armor sets people have look pretty damn cool. I can't be fucked grinding for them, though, and I don't see myself paying for them either. I'll most likely end up buying the campaign, so 343i will get my money that way.

"Do you care about earning cosmetics in multiplayer games?"

The key word in there is "earn", not "buy"

Never bought a cosmetic in my life but I like earning them by doing in-game activities

Not really, would never spend money on them and probably wouldn’t bother to grind for a specific cosmetic. That being said, if I get them for free/during normal play, I might try them out a bit
