Poll Dishonored 1 vs Dishonored 2. Which was better game? (21 votes)

Dishonored 38%
Dishonored 2 62%

Hello friends,

No Caption Provided
No Caption Provided

So we have 2 dishonored games and one stand alone DLC and series ended and evolved into Deathloop. and since deathloop around the corner I decide to discuss which game is better of 2. so my friends which is better?

for me its original 1 by far. I do like Dishonored 2. it does have genious level design but it lost charm of original. and levels were more interesting plus no more witches and wierd fantasy elements even though original had fantasy element but not this far. story was better in original too with sole focus on corvo but in sequel stephen russel voice him make him cooler.

Original Dishonored is to me much better of 2. so my friends which is better? lets discuss.

Didn't like 1 so didn't play 2. Always thought 1st person stealth felt weird, maybe because vision is so limited.

Played and disliked both. I could maybe pick the "winner" if I had to, but I don't care enough.

Prey is better than both but come on. they are not bad.

They have intelligent level design.

Loved both, but I have to give the nod to D2 for adding Emily as a second playable character with her own power set. The New Game + ability to replay it with access to both Corvo's and Emily's powers -- as well as access to all your gathered runes early on -- then adds to the fun by letting you customize.

I wish the new Arkane Collection had added the ability to access Billie Lurk's powers (from "Death of the Outsider") in the D2 NG+.

I'm interested in seeing peoples opinions on this one because I never played Dishonored 2. I dont know why because I quite liked the first one.

Overall I prefer the second one because the missions all feel very unique.

Only the first level was kind of weak.

Both games are 10/10 for me and I especially enjoyed how you don't have to take out a single target.

The second one tried to make each one like the 'Lady Boyle' mission from the first, ie very memorable.

It also gives you a ton more options to go stealthy, or to go violent.

If you enjoyed the first one you need to play the DLC for Dishonored 1 and Dishonored 2 as well ;)

I could have said it better then myself. Totally agree with this.

I know most prefer Thief over Dishonored but however, I don't think Thief and Dishonored are really comparable in some ways. Thief, at least for me, has always been a purely stealth game. Dishonored allowed you to be the assassin as well as the ghost, so it has more combat development.

this tbh.

but i'd go with 2. it built on everything great about the first game. it feels like a proper sequel, not more of the same just tweaked which so many of today's multi-instalment franchises feel like.

the world was bigger and more alive. the level design was more intricate and ingenious, the clockwork mansion and a crack in the slab were particularly impressive. the enemies more varied and challenging, the powers / charms more nuanced, versatile and synergistic. new game+ and the ability to fine tune every aspect of the difficulty turned it into a giant creative sandbox. definitely one of my favourite games of the gen

Just played 2 after seeing it on gamepass. I am nostalgic about the first one with the setting and the gameplay approaches so I kind of want to say one, but two is probably a better game although it did feel like been there done that to a considerable degree.

Anyway, the playthrough I did was full anarchy and killing with zero stealth. I'll try the exact opposite in a couple of weeks.

Didn't like the first one much, and have only played a small amount of the second so far, but both feel tedious imo. I guess they're about the same.

I know most prefer Thief over Dishonored but however, I don't think Thief and Dishonored are really comparable in some ways. Thief, at least for me, has always been a purely stealth game. Dishonored allowed you to be the assassin as well as the ghost, so it has more combat development.

Yup, Dishonored truly is an immersive sim and allows you to play however you want.

You can kill everyone

You can kill only the valuable targets, so no lesser NPCs

Or you can kill nobody and find inventive ways to get rid of targets

It's so cool to play these games over and over and find new ways to play.

Its more fun in dishonored to kill people than sneaking around. dishonored 2 is more design to play with high chaos as oppose to original game.

that's a good thing though. best of both worlds. you can kill everyone and still ghost a level (never detected). and whilst there's consequences to a high chaos play through you don't get punished for it in the same way as you did in d1

My personal favorite is Dishonored 1 mostly due to the Victorian steampunk setting. But objectively speaking, 2 is the superior game. It featured better level design, two playable characters each with their own unique power set offering great replayability value and more options for non-lethal takedowns.
