Disgaea 1 Complete (Remake - PS4, Switch) + All Disgaea Talk

I am a huge Disgaea fan and I missed this news back in January, well now it's officially announced for the west coming this fall for PS4 and Switch and is called "Disgaea 1 Complete" aka "Disgaea Refine" in Japan.

I love the Laharl/Etna/Flonne trio, it's classic. I'm glad it's getting a remake I think it has one of the best story and some of the most classic characters in the series but it's graphics and game mechanics are outdated.

After this I'd definitely like to see a Disgaea 2 remake. I really like the story between Adell and Rozalin especially the ending hehe.

3, 4, D2 and 5 don't really need remakes anytime soon as they're PS3 onwards but I'd still like to talk about them...

3 had a weak story imo, but some character are still funny, but one of the weaker Disgaea.

4 was very solid, long campaign, a large and funny cast of characters, also a step forward in many systems and mechanics.

D2 we return to the Laharl/Etna/Flonne trio but its very disappointing, not very interesting story and cut-short campaign, felt like a backward step from 4. The worst Disgaea imo.

5 was very good too, great story, great characters, refined gameplay and graphics, so much content and things to mess around with it's almost overwhelming.

First I'm hearing of this....I am also excited though. The first one is a classic and brings back so many memories.

And Disgaea on the go is the best thing ever.

I hope they bring D5 mechanics to 1 cause i'm not in the mood to play that mod filled map again.

Neat. I never played a Disgaea game before. This will be a good starting point.

I can buy it if it launches at 20 dollars tops... more than that would kinda be a scam.

Just pre-ordered collectors edition ?.

I remember picking up Disgaea for PS2 randomly. I never knew how much I liked SRPGs before that. Plus something about the quirky interactions between the characters just makes me happy. What a great game.

As much as I want the collectors edition... I think I'm going to pass. That stuff is usually really cheap and I usually regret buying collectors editions....

I wonder how this will differ from the existing PC version.

It's $50 so it better be a full remake using Disgaea 5 engine with tons of extras.

@pyro1245: I think the PC version is the PSP version that added a few elements from 2.

But this might be a complete reboot and have D4/D5 visuals and maybe mechanics from those games.

If this is an actual "Remake" of the first game, ( allow healers to actually gain exp by healing), with D5 visuals, then it may be worth it.

EDIT: 99.99? nevermind, it's not worth it. lol.

It's not... it barely qualifies as a remaster honestly... well, I'll wait for the inevitable PSN sale.
