I have seen washed out games, but this one takes the cake.
They should've chose late noon lighting. Easier to please visually.
I'd like to believe that is what they'll show next and really dark areas. Not in this this rustic dawn lighting.
Why did you post this? The way this guy rambles and his manner of speech is insufferable. He also doesn't prove DF lied. The DF video was specifically addressing a certain aspect of the games visuals. There are more obvious flaws they could've pointed out, but it's the issue with shadowed regions when using dynamic global illumination that gives the entire demo a "flat" look.

Agreed, more than anything this looks flat in its colors. None of the colors here stick out, it all looks very basic and flat. Like something you'd see on Xbox 360, but hack then you would have a load of Bloom smeared on top of it.
@seba20007: The guy might have some good points, but he's full of shit as well, i.e.: at 5:55 it was some animal, not a fucking refection, at 7:45 the ship is behind the trees, and that's when I stopped watching.
Yup. Man good points but I'm not sure why he's so angry at digital foundry when df already said that it's being held back by ms' decision of showing just a slightly beefed up last gen game specially in terms of lighting.
I watched it and I don’t think it’s a particularly good analysis. I don’t think any lighting system in the world could have made that demo look good. The low res assets in the background, the pop-in, the really weak explosions (like when chief throws a barrel at the gun turret), the lack of detail on everything from guns to faces, the unsatisfying weapon impact on enemies (colored cloud, really?).
I also think the art style is kind of bad in general. They probably went for a classic look or something, but those enemies looks so ridiculous and outdated. They don’t really fit together either.
The gameplay was also very flat. No a single mechanic that feels fresh or interesting. They needed a God of War level reboot imo. Instead they made the classic mistake of listening to the community who told them they wanted “a faster horse”.
The way they showed off the open world aspect of the game was frankly also terrible. They opened the map and showed how you can do any of four identical objectives in the order you want. Wow, that freedom....
Tl:dr
This video is too focused on one detail, when in fact every aspect of the game felt “flat”.
343 must have spent most of their budget on coke and hookers because this game looks like an absolute joke! I can't believe the execs at Microsoft even allowed this garbage to be shown.
@seba20007: Despite this is mainly talking about Halo: Infinite, we already have an actual thread (Link) DF XSX breakdown that's still new and not only that, you need to post the details on the vid and just can't post a vid without discussion constant anyways.
