Did you prefer PSP/VITA or DS/3DS ?

PSP/VITA + 1 for my favourite action series as God of War Chains of Olympus/Ghost of Sparta, GTA Vice City/Liberty City Stories/Chinatown Wars,Burnout Legends,Final Fantasy VII:Crisis Core, Resistance Retribuition, Metal gear solid Portable Ops/PLUS/Peace Walker, The 3rd Birthday,Killzone Liberation, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, Daxter, Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, Uncharted:Golden Abyss,Gravity Rush,Resistance:Burning Skies,Final Fantasy X/X-2HD and many others.

Never tried 3ds, wife has a vita somewhere and I tried it for few mins to play gravity crush and that was it. Not really in to handhelds

PSP and Vita for me personally.

I can't get into the DS / 3DS

I'm too mature for their systems

1. PSP
2. 3DS
3. DS

I don't own a Vita, not yet anyways, will try to get one this year if I'm feeling lucky.

I had a psp and a 3ds and I really loved my psp but the lack of games at the time was off putting.

Ended up trading mine in for ps4 credit back in 2013

Still got my 3ds but rarely use it

Love my 3DS. Great catalog of games, plays DS titles.

Currently i'd say it still wins over Switch.

@ProtossRushX: you'really not too mature you just have specific taste. No such thing as too mature to play video games. Honestly though the hardware limitations are a bigger deal breaker. Had the Vita been better supported by Sony I would have bought one

The PSP was GOD SENT and a life saver. Coolyfett would even be on Gamespot if not for the PSP. The PSP saved Coolyfett a lot of money. No diss to the DS\3DS systems but PSP was king for Coolyfett.

Grand Theft Auto, Patapon, Wipeout, Killzone, Mortal Kombat, God of War, Syphon Filter, ...

I really liked a lot of the games that came out on these devices,

Still I couldn't put down my DS or 3DS because of games like Ace Attorney or Mario :D

DS/3DS, no contest. PSP/Vita combined have less than 5 games that I care about.

Personally, it's the Vita. It's basically my go-to for all games anime. And I am a feller that looooves me some anime!

there are essentially no games that are exclusive to PSP or Vita that i care about. i guess portable ops, but meh.

As much as I really like the technical aspects of the PSP/Vita systems I much prefer the DS/3DS because they have way more games that I want to play on them.

Definitely PSP/PS Vita but my opinion is biased. Those UMD's were my first outlet for watching movies/anime while on the go and got me interested in gadgets. I respect PS Vita as a powerful little handheld that can play some great games like Freedom Wars, Persona 4 Golden, Wipeout 2048, and Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Sometimes on PS Vita it literally feels like I have an entire console in my hands. That's why I can't wait to get a Switch tbh lol

DS vs PSP: DS by a mile. so many great games. i remember having a PSP and i would only occasionally play dungeon siege on it. sonys first attempt to bring a console like experience to portables left a lot to be desired. the DS had just so many crazy and interesting games on it.

Vita vs 3DS: im looking at my 3DS and vita collection and i think its actually a draw in terms of numbers for me. where the PSP failed in what it set out to do, the vita actually managed to pull it off. i thought i was done with my vita last year but Ys8 came out (i dont know why but i just prefer Ys on portables). sonys first party support left a lot to be desired (though killzone, wipeout and tearaway were good) but a stab at it from the west and the love it gets from japan means it still has a great, albeit niche, game selection. the 3DS was backed by nintendos usual excellent first party support but, unlike the PSP/DS gen, i didnt actually really like playing 3DS games on the 3DS itself and, as a gaming machine, the vita was even more innovative. i mean i got metroid samus returns and as i play it i just keep thinking "i want to play this on something else...like a vita". its not even a graphics thing. its just the 3DS is not nice to hold, the control scheme is not great, the 3D is sensitive...its just not a pleasant gaming device to play games on imho (still better than any phone mind). i didnt even bother with the monster hunter games because i just dont want to play those games on the 3DS (i tried the tri port with the second stick addon but i just didnt like it. swapped it for the wiiu version).

i have often said that i wish it was the nintendo vita. something like the vita with the 3DSs games library (and some of the vitas too....the 3DS got no love from the west really developer wise).

and they listened...and they made the switch...and its library is going to be something else as a result. japans full backing, nintendos first party support and some devs in the west kicking the tyres on it at least...bit like the vita.

Indzman, my friend, your constant obsession with trying to put Nintendo down has moved from being amusing to being tiresome.

To answer the question, I prefer the DS and 3DS to PSP and Vita, but I love all four systems nonetheless, and would prefer not to choose.

DS/3DS

I owned the PSP, never owned the Vita. The only game I was really into on the PSP was Lumines, and that was a cool puzzle game. Other than that, I tried to get into some of their other big hits but none of them grabbed me. My interest in PSP declined because DS was simultaneously keeping my attention by releasing an amazing library of games within its lifespan.

I love the 3DS because it has a really good library too.

That's a very stupid reason to like PSP and Vita, for just Persona 3 and 4 ports? LOL! Come on, I know you have more reasons than that.

I bought a 3DS purely for Ocarina Of Time....... my all time favorite Zelda and in my top 10 best games ever.

I like the DS/3DS better for their library of games, but I much prefer the hardware design for PSP and Vita. Nintendo handhelds always cramp my hands.

The DS for Pokemon alone is the best one. I'm currently replaying Pokemon Emerald now and then I'll replay Pokemon Pearl. I don't have the 3DS, and I really wanted my parents to buy it this Christmas. Though my phone broke, so I had to have them replace that, have them buy things for my hair, and buy me new clothes. Maybe I'll get the 3DS for my birthday or next Christmas.

Though I did like the PSP. I used to play Final Fantasy: Crisis Core on it. I remember my brother and I having to painfully share it and having to spend 2 hours each on the PSP. It was torture... I don't have the Vita and don't plan on getting it.

Only played a handful of PSP titles, but I enjoyed my time with it. The 3DS is really great, plenty of great games. Just wish it didn't cramp my hands.

Haven't really cared much about handhelds since the GBA, and even back then I wasn't really into them.

Anyways, never owned a Vita, but I did enjoy the DS/3DS much more than the PSP. It seems the best reasons to own a PSP/Vita are to emulate other systems. Nothing wrong with that either, but I find the DS/3DS lineups to be more appealing for a handheld system. If I wanted to emulate classic systems, I'd just do that on my PC.

Actually been thinking about picking up another 3DS recently.

Because Nintendo Handhelds are superior! Sony had a chance, after making a dent on Nintendo's strong market, and they blew it with Vita.

I love them all. I own a PSP and a Vita as well as a 3DS. All have games I love and I can't pick one over the other. PSP/Vita is my RPG machine whereas my 3DS plays mainly Zelda titles and some RPGs.

DS/3DS by far. Though my latter library sucks ass for it because I can't find much that interests me. Even my Wii U and XBOX ONE have a more appealing collection.

Though for some reason, Wikipedia won't put it on their failure page.

PSP/VITA and will eventually buy a Switch because I feel it's more of a spiritual successor of the PSP/VITA and no next gen sony handheld in sight.

I'll wait for a revision 2 since that's a given with nintendo handhelds.

I vastly preferred the 3DS. But the Vita was the best handheld I have ever laid my hands on till the Switch came up that is.

I have both and played my 3DS about 10 times more. If I think about what types of games I want to come to the Switch, I would rather see DS/3DS developers make games for the Switch.

DSLite when it arrived, but before I got one PSP was way better

Vita is still better than 3DS, though new 3DS made it a discussion worth having.
