DF: NBA 2K21 - A Proper Generational Leap?

• Players and materials appear more natural on next gen consoles
• The next gen version has an overhauled UI that takes advantage of the storage and graphics capabilities
• PS5 loads instantly vs 28 seconds on PS4 Pro
• PS5 and Series X runs at native 4K and are virtually identical visually
• Series S runs at native 1080p at similar next gen quality
• The game runs at 60fps during gameplay and 30fps during replays
• Series X runs at 60 fps with a few odd frame drops
• PS5 also runs at 60 fps with no frame drops
• Series S also runs at 60 fps
• Parametric camera makes the framerate drop more often on Series X
• PS5 does not drop in a similar test with similar camera angles
• Series S has minor dips but not a bad as X

No interest whatsoever in the sport anymore. :P

It's his Beard that's a huge leap is what I got out of DF comparison and I gotta admit, I like it!

Presentation is important in a Sports game so glad at least devs tried. Personally just wait till next year, the first year attempts usually is very buggy in sports game.

And we'll see the same visuals for the next set of games until next-gen arrives. Rinse and repeat.

Eh, mostly been done with all pro sports for a while now. Sometimes I just can't believe how much of my time and frustration I wasted over the decades with all the crying millionaires playing a kids game. lol

High school and college ball I'm still cool with. :P

I'm not a basketball fan but the game looks amazing. I hope they come out with a new boxing game for the X/S and PS5.

Oh I'm with you on that one. I wouldn't say I'm "done" but I seldom watch and just barely keep up with the news. I remember when i was younger and I used to lose sleep or be mad a whole day over my team losing an important game. Then I realized I had no control over any of it and I took it way seriously.

I still like to watch every once in a while but yeah, watching games is no longer on my weekly schedule. I catch boxing matches but huge ones only come a few times a year and they're huge events with friends and a ton of fun. Plus they require much less fan investment.

Bold.. My goodness yes. Stuff like that would spoil an otherwise great weekend.

I do from time to time watch a little bit but nowhere near the investment I used to make in the past rooting for my hometown teams and being somewhat emotionally invested as well.

Well all of those spectators are 3D animated models so rendering the full court plus all the other stuff going on in the court could stress the GPU.

I am currently playing Fight Night Champions on BC from gamepass and it actually still looks pretty good IMHO, especially considering it's a 360 game. I can't even imagine how great a boxing game would look and play.

Minor stuff but perhaps its time to remove the Seal that sw mods put on Ron. He will be able to explain what's going on. Ron is missed in all this next gen entertainment lol.

I would hate to imagine what kind of sacrifice is required to remove that seal.

No way is that a proper generation leap it's still a cross gen game decent visual upgrades but it's held back. I'm still waiting to see next gen graphics on consoles it hasn't come yet probably in a few years once games are built from the ground up on these consoles and cross gen is dead.

That said, it’s plainly obvious that PS5s main advantage is it’s clock speeds, it brute forces through scenarios where other games drop frames.

It will (probably) be the same for cyber punk, rendering cars,city,pedestrians,environments etc will take less of a hit on PS5 due to the clock speeds.
