Destructoid previews The order 1886 (again)

lol, true. It still shocks abit that it got 9 here, but ended up at 70 on MC. It'd be funny to see the same situation again.

This game has been bashed by every critic since its reveal. Seems like no one can find any good in this game. Sad truth is, if this game turns out to be a really good game, reviewers will continue to criticize it becaue its the "cool" thing to do. Personally I think the game will be great. Its different, and I like that.

I lost all hope for this game when I learned it "cinematic over the shoulder." Over the shoulder is BS... but I but we can all see what thread count the clothes are!! We should also get to know the back of the characters head and shoulder really well.. bring back classic 3rd person.. cinematic OTS is trash.... garbo trash... dumpster juice... and all other sorts of stuff like that.. :P

Hate? Really? Majority of previews has shown us gameplay footage and told everyone, while the story and graphics may be great, the fun factor isn't there at all. You can preach that I'm hating the game already, but I'm not, I'm more skeptical than ever to think that the game will be good or mediocre. Developers are the ones that are more spoiled not gamers.

Since the first "gameplay" video I was saying it was going to be highly mediocre.

This was an issue with games like THe Darkness 2, amazing single player but short with no replay value. Hard to justify the $60 price tag.

They have been giving the same preview for the same section of the game since E3.

People actually take destructoid seriously? Come on they are the joke of game industry. Their reviews are way off majority of the time.

The actual preview itself is shit, it talks about the story in a 10 min demo, but this same demo has received mostly negative (and some slightly positive) impressions. The problem is that it's the same demo and same build we had in February, a developer called it ancient. He promised we'll be getting a new demo soon.

Sounds like a 7/10 type of game. I like story-driven games, but there has to be a more creative way of doing them rather than run shoot run shoot run cinematic, repeat.

now with shareplay cows dont have to play the game at all and can enjoy a true cinematic experience.

This game kind of reminds me of Darkwatch which was a really underrated shooter on the PS2 and Xbox

I am the asshole here then because I liked Heavenly Sword. But based on what was said, it doesn't sound great aside from the graphics we have all seen. Still It has time, and Ready at Dawn made two of my favorite PSP games, and I love a good shooter so I'll hope for the best.

if this game had multiplayer like a competitive or maybe a co-op component I'd be interested. But $60 for a corridor shooter? That's bargain bin or free on PS+ material. From the looks of it this game could of been Sony's Gears of War, but as an SP only game people will play it, beat it and forget about it the same month it came out just like it happened to inFamous SS.

But they won't hype it in the official hype thread.

I know a lot of legitimate folks here want this game to be good but I'm afraid that in reality it won't amount to anything more than a Driveclub version of a TPP shooter.

Negative previews ain't good news however I'm still interested in the game..

I liked Heavenly Sword too, but it wasn't the breakaway success Sony hoped it would be, but was a great graphics showcase. I think The Order is destined for the same reception.

This game doesn't seem to great gameplay wise, but neither does Quantum break so lemmings really can't say shit.

The age of hardcore shooters is coming to an end, it's all about cinematic action games now from a AAA perspective.

Now where is all the hype for The Order these lemming are talking about? Literally NO one has been talking about The Order in the past couple of months other than noting the fact that it's coming out in Feb. Look at how the lem flies swarm to this thread licking their chops to make dumb comments that don't apply to anyone.

You are literally the only person I've seen hype this AAA. Well lems hype it AAAA showing their desperation to have a Sony game flop, but I am talking legitimate hype from someone who doesn't hate Sony and playstation 24/7

Most people on here pretty much know nothing about the game. Someone's gotta hype this, so it might as well be me. I'm not just hyping it for the sake of hyping it though, I was concerned about the game at first, but then I looked around for information. There is a lot to this game that they haven't shown.

I'm happy that all the previews have been trashing it, people will go in with lower expectations and it will be a pleasant surprise for many people. It's certainly not another Ryse like some people here think.

It's starting to seem like Uncharted 4 is going to be the only savior for the PS4. It's still quite a ways off though.

I think really everyone wants to see this game do well, however as of now from what we've been shown it seems to be a pretty bland experience.

Let's hope that the full game ties together well and offers the opposite on release.

But cows won't buy this game cause it's 800p and 30 fps. I thought any game under 1080p/60fps was unplayable?
