Across all platforms

I don't expect to write about every sales milestone Cupheadclears, but I can't seem to resist. Knowing that the wonderfully-animated run-and-gun game sold a million copies made me happy back in October. Learning today that it has now passed two million sales makes me, well, very happy.

Big risk from the devs: All the time and money they put into perfecting the artstyle (delaying the game time ans time again)

I'm glad it paid off for them :)

Well deserve and I really had fun playing Cuphead for it's old school cartoons from the 30's and I also enjoy all the reference I can find from my old childhood cartoons :P

Wait until you get to Mr. Dice and the Devil boss stage. Prepare for the fight of your life since Battletoads. (And Battletoads still stumps Cuphead in terms of hard difficulty)

You're only doubting yourself. This game isn't that hard if you memorize the boss attack patterns and the more you lose, the better you'll know the boss attacks and how to avoid them.

Well according to Tigerbalm it could have failed without PC.

The Devs literally banked everything on it, if it didn't sell they'd be in major debt, I believe that would count as fail

Yeah but the smart and evil thing about this game is they mix up what they throw at ya...you can memorize it but then they throw it out in a different order lol

splatoon2 on switch is at 2.5 million with an install base of 10million.

for an indie game to tie a nintendo IP is terrific. i mean splatoon two is 60$ and cuphead is 20$ but still....

cuphead deserves a physical release!

Good on them. All told, the devs poured their hearts and souls into this game, and that effort seemed to have paid off big time.

I'll be picking it up on GOG... ...eventually. I'm waiting for a big discount to reduce risk - not of me not liking it, but of me destroying my controller trying to finish it.

In the meantime, I've nominated it for Steam Awards under my custom "Worth it for the soundtrack alone" category. Valve seemed to have taken it on board and renamed it the "Best Soundtrack" category, with Cuphead as one of the nominees. I feel influential.
