Physics and interaction here is definitely better than crysis remastered and most today games

digital foundry :

"There's a level of simulation here you just don't see any more in modern games".

"Some rendering effects we saw in Crysis do still persist into present day titles. There's the debut of screen-space ambient occlusion (SSAO), along with a glorious showcase in parallax occlusion mapping, an effect that only really came into its own on the current-gen consoles".

there are things here not present in games released years later like killzone shadow fall and halo 5 etc.

Hasn't competed for years. It looks good for how old it is, but the geometry, character models, and materials are all outdated by now.

Doesn't matter to me, it's a mediocre game on gameplay end. They said Cyberpunk will be new Crysis, fitting too because there too gameplay is pretty meh.

@fantasygamer: Didn't crysis also introduce tesselation? Or maybe it was simply one of the first. I dont remember.

Yeah if you mod the shit out of Crysis it does look better than launch titles like Ryse, Killzone 4 etc.

I remember getting 26-28 fps max settings modded on my $3000 PC that I bought in 2009-2010.

but even with the best mods it doesn't look as good Uncharted 4, Horizon Zero Dawn let alone Days Gone, Death Stranding, Red Dead 2, Last of Us 2, Ghost of Tsushima, etc.

Its similar to how GTA V modded, which is now 7 years old, looks as good if not better than the best PC games like Red Dead 2, Control, Plague Tale, Shadow of Tomb Raider, etc.

GTA V modded PC gives us a vague idea how GTA VI on PS5 will look.

Even GTA 4 modded looks pretty amazing .

You can very clearly tell this is a very old game. The game looks very washedout.

You don't even need mods. Just push the graphics to MAXIMUM with ini edits.

I played through it again this year and some parts of it are still impressive: nature, Parralex Occlusion Mapping, the Alien hive.

Just wish that Crytek could fix the performance somehow. Basing their *ahem* remaster on the last gen PS3 version was not right move.

Just played modded Crysis at a friends house. While it does look really good for it's age, it hasn't competed for many years as several people here already pointed out.

It was graphics king for a couple of years though.
