So, SW. Name any armors from any video games you find the coolest.

One for me, would be the Desert Ranger Armor, aka the NCR Veteran Ranger Armor, from Fallout: New Vegas. Power Armor got nothing on such a sleek looking, intimidating piece, say what you will about the NCR in the game (though they are my preferred faction).

Your choice?

Many armors in Dark Souls 3 are really cool. I like the Knight set especially.

Arthur's gold armor in Super Ghouls'n'Ghosts on SNES. His underwear "armor" is also pretty cool.

Artorias, Ringed Knight, Ornstein + Smough, and Abyss Walker sets from DS3. I’ll have to go back and examine Bloodborne but the canon set is sick as f*ck.

I’ll give MC some love from Halo 4 and Halo:CE. Emille’s armor from Halo: Reach is perhaps better albeit.

Ready for a deep cut? The final armor sets for Vahn, Noa, and Gala in Legend of Legaia are bombin.

I'm digging the realistic approach in Kingdom Come Deliverance right now. But there are just so many games with pretty cool armor.

His and hers (Cait) X01 power armor.

I also think it's cool how the frame gets exposed as individual armor components get damaged.

I loved the suits in the Dead Space series, especially when he changes from one to another, such a cool animation with the helmet.

Definitely a huge fan of the Bear armor.

The Nordic armor in Skyrim is actually kind of cool, too.

For modern battle armor, the Crysis nano suit is hard to beat. For medieval fantasy, some of the armor sets in FFXIV are absolutely godly in their detail.

Another came to mind:

The Judges from FFXII. I realize they are the inspiration for characters in FFXIV but their earlier incarnation is superior IMO

I love armours in Horizon Zero Dawn. They really look like they've been put together from harvested machined parts and suchlike!

In addition to modeling missing individual armor components, I like the animation of the wearer getting into the power armor frame in Fallout 4.

Power armour in F4 is like God mode. So, only noobs and little girls use power armour in the game.

I'm serious. The one time I was forced to use power armour in Concord, it really felt like cheating. I ditched the armour as soon as I could, and never wore it ever again.

But sure, if youre total noob to videogames, or a little girl, then power armour might be your thing.

@fantasygamer: Crysis nanosuit is the coolest overall because how it ties into the gameplay. Well.... aside from female nude armour of course. ;)

Oh, quit. It's a fricking game. ;) Besides, the player's character doesn't lose parts like the power armor does. I think losing individual parts is cool outside of a visual damage model.

Now, if we see the player's head get blown off, that'd be nice.

If only we can see damage models like this one.....

Not mine. But, this should be from IL-2 Cliffs of Dover. Not bad for 2011 tech.

And that's another cheat: merely wearing the Power Armour frame gives you massive bonuses, which is just wrong.

C'mon man. I didn't wear the power armor that much when I played the SP campaign (short of cash most of the time). In fact, I finished the game without one (ran out of fusion cores some time prior).

It was only after I finished the game and leveled up further that I used power armor a lot. I finished the SP campaign at 374 hours. I'm now at 818 hours and counting. I also avoided using multi-barrel weapons such as the minigun and gatling laser, limiting myself to rifle-type weapons only. In the meantime, many bad guys have leveled up sufficiently enough to use miniguns. Many of them also wore power armor. So, if the bad guys can wear em, so can I.
