Chivalry coming to consoles, ye peasants are in for a treat

I normally wouldn't use the term 'console peasant' but I think in the context of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare it fits.

For the unenlightened, Chivalry is a first person multiplayer medieval combat game that has some of the most entertaining sword fighting in the business. The weapons feel weighty, there is a huge amount gore and the game is just an incredible amount of fun.

I think the controls should translate great to consoles, I hope ya'll enjoy the game as much as I did back in 2012

Dealiest Warrior didn't have team objective mode so it never really interested me. No filthy peasants to slaughter or corpse wagons to push

i played this since beta. Great game with friends but i personally enjoyed 1v1

i liked it too but not as much as chivalry.

It's a good game. 12 player limit is going to make the larger, objective based maps less fun but the smaller game modes will be fine.

haven't played this in a while. Fun game but so many games on my PC it got lost in the sauce.

I wouldn't. They changed the game mechanics way too much, making dragging borderline useless and encouraging feints way too much (fuckin feinters!!).

I am a god at the game btw. No one fucks with me when I gots my bardiche, and I love playing as the archer: everyone always assume that I am poor, lowly archer that doesn't have a clue what to do when in melee....I shoot em once, then stab the living shit out of them while parrying all their pathetic attacks!! HAHAHAHA!!!

haha yea I remember when the game came out i'd go 50-2 with the Halberd and feel like an absolute beast. Then they nerfed the halberd and spoiled my fun. Once you got the timing down with those polearms you were unstoppable.

Is there a singleplayer portion to the game or is it like Day of Defeat/Counter Strike?

I think you can play with bots but they are glitchy as balls (unless they have been improved). If you play dark souls you'll do fine in PvP

I've been looking at this and Mount & Blade for a more rewarding medieval action experience. I think I'll go with M&B.

Saw my friend playing this a bit at his place and the 1st person combat did look better than Elder Turds say, but I didn't see any proper sp campaign or anything, just running around in mp hacking into ppl over & over again.

Not going to waste the hard drive space. Clunky controls and sub par graphics.

@foxhound_fox: if you are going to go with M&B, don't waste your time and go straight for Warband. Don't bother buying the original.

if you are looking for depth M&B is probably the better choice. I know M&B 2 is on the horizon, not sure when its coming exactly

i was referring more to the fact that you kill filthy peasants as one of the objectives in Chivalry. I think the game is incredibly well suited to the average bro gamer, was just making a light hearted joke. bro.

I remember hearing about this game a long time ago, but I wasn't sure if anything ever became of it. I think I was interested in finding out if my laptop could run it at the time, and then my laptop died so...

There aren't too many first-person games with an emphasis on close-range combat. That should change.

It's great to see how far a HL2 mod has come. This is one of the rare games that I still play occasionally, even though I've had it since launch.

Nope, you guess incorrectly. Despite being an indie multiplayer game that was released 2 years ago, there are still plenty of servers around the world. I never have trouble finding servers even in New Zealand, where the only servers with decent ping available to me are hosted in oceanic regions. There are significantly more servers in the States.

Old, indie and still have servers; that's how impressive Chivalry is.

I had my time with the game but it's good to see those who only have consoles will be able to have a go at it.

Good for them. But sadly it won't be better than the Steam Version.
