Carrion has a July release date

That game where you basically play "The Thing".

The promising-looking Carrion comes out 23rd July on PC, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.

The release date was announced during the Devolver Digital show - with a little help from Xbox boss Phil Spencer.

Carrion is a gory reverse horror game from Phobia Game Studio in which you play an amorphous creature who stalks and consumes enemies. Here's the new trailer:

I forgot about this game. Glad to see that it has a release date, which is the same date as the July Xbox event. I wonder if its coming to Gamepass.🤔

Played the demo, it was so much fun. Devolver for president!

*Hope we see more "reverse" horror games. I'd like to see an Alien game a la Alien: Isolation except you play as the Alien. Those first few minutes of the Alien campaign in AvP 2 where you play the chestburster and sneak around were so much fun.

That would be a really nice surprise.

Not sure why, but I haven't been this hyped for a game in a long time.

I love the audio of all of Devolver's games. It so crisp, visceral, and in your ears. There's no trickery to it, a sword slash sounds exactly like you think it should, an evil monster munching on flesh and bones sounds like an evil monster munching on flesh and bones.

Not to mention the general style, presentation, and so forth of the games they publish. Probably one of my favorite game publishers.

I was watching Digital Devolvers older events a couple months back and saw this trailer, looked into it to see if it was out but it was still in the works, so been eagerly awaiting its release, thankfully not much longer.

Looks like there might actually be some semblance of story to Carrion as well. They had like a playable flashback scene or something about 11 or so minutes in.

Maybe something along the lines of a Weyland-Yutani-esque science division playing god and creating this monster :D

Either way, loving the horror movie vibe. Creature features are the best! I like horror movies in general, but the whole monster movie sub-genre has a lot more appeal than ghosts, satanic stuff, and slashers.
