I do believe so. It is #1 all time on gamerankings. It's a fabulous game that just runs flawlessly. When is the last time you can say a next generation game with no hicups, runs at 60fps, has a camera system that is perfect, masterpiece platforming and is just a blast to play. THis game has personality and alot of those things that make you smile inside.
It was good, I honestly didn't think there was anything mind-blowing about it while playing it. Videos did all of that for me. I do disagree with this, though.

Sometimes I couldn't see where I was going, which in some cases I could just change the camera position, but there were a lot of places I couldn't. I had to make a few blind jumps, though they never turned out bad.

On topic- Yes so far. But Mass Effect comes out so it might be short lived for Mario Galaxy.
honestly outside of Bioshock, Crysis, and Metroid Prime 3(Call of Duty 4 was to short and Halo 3 was very good just it wasnt the best single player) there has been very little quality single player. Sure AA quality. But not the AAA quality that really wows peoplel. So The fact that Galaxy is not only amazing but the first major single player that isnt a shooter.
I voted for number 3 because it's teh funnay. But I do agree it's the best game that's not a shooter outthere, I won't say this gen because this gen just started and if Mario is the best game, then I should stop buying games all together.

AC's one of the most refreshing and original experiences I've played in a very long time. Sad that it'll likely get overlooked in favor of either Halo 3 (fun but a bit overhyped)or Mass Effect (looks amazing,but it'll probably end up as GOTY anyway), but unless Mass Effect TRULY blows me away beyond words, my GOTY vote goes to AC and its awesomeness.

SMG is the greatest game that I have ever played. The last time i remember playing a game that was this good was... well sm64. I honestly cant wait to get home from work today just to play the damn game some more. I got into a fight with my wife the other day cause i was playing it too much so i was able to get her to play it, and shes not mad anymore and wants to play it more herself. Its insanely good. Nothing matches it for fun factor yet this gen for sure imho. Also if it only runs in 30 fps im incredible impressed cause its freaking smooth. Its a great game taht everyone should play, unfortunatly its only on teh wii so that elimates about 60% of the market.
it doesnt clearly and utterly trump all other games, but it has that spark of genius, its just an amazing game. calling it the best single player experience this gen is pretty hard, but i reckon it takes it for solely redefining the platformer genre. games like mass effect will surely beg to differ but with a gameranings score like that, and as those whoh have played it will know- a touch of magic creativity (that only nintendo could provide), it wins by a slight margin.
