Damnit, i got my hopes up.  I thought title meant there is a console sold without Kinect.  I couldn't care less if it's connected...grrrr

One step away. Next week they'll be announcing $399 bundle without Kinect. :lol:

Pre-sales must have been REALLY one sided for them to make all these changes. Lets be honest, that's the only reason they would have backed down from all of this.

At $399 they will be on equal terms though (except for hardware power). So this holiday should be really interesting if that happens... MS might figure they will sell out either way though, especially if they have "low yields" on certain components. They might be producing less units. In theory, keeping price at $499 makes sense if you know you're not going to be able to meet demand anyway. 

Here is the problem with a non-Kinect version right now. Some of us who have it pre-ordered already may not care about Kinect. So if they make it optional places like Amazon starts to lose some of the preorders money I am not sure these stores will let them do it without crying foul.

They're in full panic mode :lol:
