Bloodborne on PC "nearly" done according to a somewhat dubious source, no unlocked frame rate

The leaker claims that there was another big playtest round of PC port in July to address some of the issues that were found during previous QA testing. These bugs and issues have all been fixed and online functionality is fully operational, meaning that the work on the port is now coming to an end.

As he previously revealed, the port won't have unlocked framerate since anything above 60 FPS is causing a lot of issues so a 60 FPS cap is probably expected.

Sony you better make bloodborne update day 1 on PS5. I have a billion playthrough of this game but won't mind another just for 60fps and crossplay with pc beggars.

Also, since there seem to be more and more of these on the way, Sony should make a nice simple path for existing owners to transfer their save games over to PC, for the players.

Yeah I seriously doubt it would have an unlocked frame rate.

From Software is a classic example of a dev being stuck on consoles for too long.

Even after making several multi-platform games they still cap the games at 60 fps, most likely due to the engine being tied to frame rate in too many places.

you will see the ps4 games going to pc as sony stated before because

a. it makes more money for there dev team

b. to get pc players to play ps brand named game and if they want to play future sequels or ps brand named games it will make them want a ps5. or they can wait until close he end of next gen when they do the same.

c. to get the updated version of these games will also be the ps5 version of the game.

Thats why i'm not buying a PS 5, will play Bloodborne and rest PS 5 games in all its glory on PC :)

Chromatic abberation blows and is used in half of today's games. I don't know if you just asked what that is, but here's an example:

Bloodborne would look nicer without it. Almost any game would. Unless your character is looking through an electronic visor or something.

Because i am used to low console standards. Its always one of the two, and never both.

Sorry, is this something to be excited about? It's going to be an absolute crap port probably, too, given how they have been before.

So far the best PS4 Exclusive -> PC port seems to be H:ZD and we all know how well that went...

Dark Souls 3 runs well on PC and it's the same engine.

I wonder who is doing the actual port work. I mean... we know it should be possible to get a decent version on PC. I guess it all comes down to how much they care.

@mrbojangles25: The Dark Souls PC port was awful, but someone quickly fixed it. Playing Bloodborne on PC is totally something to be excited about for someone like me who really want to play it and really dislikes PS consoles. Chromatic aberration, bad fps, bad controls, whatever, some nerd somewhere will fix it.

Can go either way man.

Death Stranding was just last month, even the same engine as HZD, much better port. Nioh was a PS4 exclusive, solid port. Horizon definitely not the best port job from PS4 lol.

Of course it really comes down to the dev, or the team they task to handle the port if outsourced.

Bloodborne being a From game, Dark Souls was a dumpster fire port, but their other releases on PC have been solid.

That's essentially why I get bitter about this. It's not a matter of "they can't make a good port" it's simply they "won't make a good port".

I wouldn't worry too much just yet - this is still very likely to turn out to be BS. The linked source also recently claimed God of War was coming to PC soon, which sounds really implausible. Best candidate for a port IMO, though.

IIRC, Sekiro is also locked to 60 FPS, but you can technically mod 144+ FPS in. IF BB IS coming to PC, I'd expect the same thing to happen.

@jasonofa36: Bloodborne came before Dark Souls III which isn’t unlocked. Odds are some tweaks were made to the engine so it wouldn’t break above 60fps after Dark Souls III.

@Juub1990: True, and it is technically a console-only game so far, so having things tied to framerate may just have been a design decision to make development easier.

Death Stranding is an incredible port.

Also even the "bad" ports still run/look better than the PS4/PRO versions. So I honestly wouldn't mind this either way.
