Well, which was your favourite and why warriors?

Bioshock Infinite, its ending got one of the best and most memorable ending in video game history ... imo.Shooting mechanics was solid compared to Deus Ex HR.

I know Lulu_Lulu will probably get mad at mention of Infinite lol.

Easily Deus Ex

Better gameplay and better story.

And no, Infinite has got one of the most contrived endings in history where it forgets its characters. they never bothered fleshing out the protagonist and antagonist either so the ending doesn't really work. Some one should tell Levine a twist isn't a story, but part of one.

Deux EX. Better story and gameplay. Infinite is cool, but DX is goat.

There's no contest. BioShock Infinite was hands down the single worst BioShock game, and almost in every single respect! It actually somehow managed to impair the previous game's mechanics. The only thing that was better about it was the personal spin of the story, but that's not a quantifiable value, that's just different.

On the other hand, Deus EX: HR - apart from limited open-endedness of its world structure and choices which weren't as meaningful as we were led to believe (compared to previous DX games) - delivered big time on all fronts.

Deus Ex by far. Gameplay is a bit too different in the two games to make a proper comparison, but personally,I preferred the open ended nature of the missions. The bosses sucked, but I heard that was fixed in the remake. Didn't get that, though. I don't support that trend.

As for story, it's laughable to call Infinite's story a good one just because some people who hadn't experienced this kind of story before didn't see the twist coming. While Deus Ex didn't have a totally amazing story of an epic scale either, the little it had was executed very well. Most importantly, it didn't insult the players' intelligence with a contrived twist.

I've yet to play Bioshock Infinite but I doubt it'll take Human Revolution's place as one of my favorite games of last gen.

Deus Ex Human Revolution was not a great game in comparison to the original Deus Ex.

I did not like Adam Jensen as a character - he was an idiot, always two steps behind the player and the plot, always walking into obvious traps, and frequently interested in a girlfriend that I cared nothing about.

The rest of the story felt simplistic, predictable, and hollow. Also, the boss fights were awful. Still...the attempts at stealth and some of the limited free-form mission design was pretty good, and it was a crazy-stylish game, so it gets a pass from me.

In any case, it's a far better game than Bioshock Infinite. That was a steaming turd wrapped around a poorly developed plot twist.

@indzman:

You bet I will ! That game was pure hot trash.

Why couldn't you just pick Bioshock 2 ir System Shock 2 as a candidate ir something like that ? Did you just pick Infinite because of its ending ?

I really didn't care for Deus Ex: Human Revolution the multiple times I tried it. I greatly enjoyed Bioshock Infinite though.

So Bioshock Infinite for me.

I only really persevered with Infinite because it's incredible from an aesthetic standpoint. The shooting was fun at times but I hated sections such as the graveyard ghost fight and the final battle.

Even the director's cut of Human Revolution looks dated but it does have some really fun gameplay, particularly if you go the stealth hacking route. Also, despite the environments being closed off, there's a lot of exploration possibilities. I'd love to see a new Deus ex game set in a fully open-world, futuristic steampunk city.

I loved them both but Deus Ex gets my vote. Better story and better gameplay but Bioshock infinite characters and graphics ( both technical and aesthetically ) are better ( plus Elizabeth was one of the best sidekicks ever )

I couldn't get into DX:HR's gameplay and story at all. Tried a few times and lost interest quickly.

On the other hand, Infinite's one my favourite games.

Bioshock infinite wasted my time too much with useless plot points that got abandoned because "hurr hurr dimensional tears!"

I was expecting more from Deus Ex. Looking at the original and modern hardware I thought that it could have been a groundbreaking game (at least when it was announced).

Deus Ex: Human Revolution by far.

  • Side quests and lengthy campaign
  • Branching storyline (sort of) and multiple ways to complete objectives
  • More replay value
  • Better Cutscenes
  • Gadgets, Guns, Upgrades etc. All that awesome Sci Fi stuff
  • Dark story and amazing atmosphere
  • Stealth mechanics
  • Protagonist
  • Dat music

This.. And the story did not dip into the pretentious shit that Infinite dripped with.. Bioshock Infinite is very much like the typical AAA studio action game we have been seeing for years.. The biggest tragedy is the fact we may never see a Deus Ex Human Revolution sequel, and we have people clamoring for another mediocre Bioshock title.

Deus Ex Human Revolution, it has some of the best level design of last generation, had a bad but interesting story, and had some of the most memorable places in video games, period.

I think BioShock Infinite is one of the worst AAA games ever created.

Both games have things I like very much. I like the gameplay and mechanics best on Deus Ex, but the story, character, setting and overall lore in Infinite was way better. I'll go with Infinite, though that's not to say Deus Ex was an amazing game. I love em both.

Boy didn't realize how much of a circle jerk there was for the hate for Bioshock infinite in this forum.

Oh hoy, both games are amazing, is really hard to choose one.

Lets see, Deus Ex has a really cool main character and the level design is amazing for the most part, but the boss battles are horrible, i did like the setting and it has some really fun mechanics, the story was ok for the most part, a solid 8.5 for me.

BioShock Infinite is one of the only few shooters i truly cared last gen, the characters are amazing, the whole setting is brilliant with the atmosphere, the voice acting and the art style, the gameplay is fun, i mean much better than your average FPS and the story was pretty interesting that left in me a good feeling which is more than i can say for other games (GoW 3) , so its a 9.0 for me.

In the end i go with Infinite but both games are really good.

From a gameplay perspective I thought Deus Ex had more going for it....

Story is a wash... Both had good and bad moments.

Deus ex bosses were both lame and contradicted the very skill tree they give you to develop... Really unbalanced.

Bioshock gameplay was rather uninspired.... Basically a shooting gallery.

Deus ex's bleak Detroit wasn't as aesthetically interesting to play in...

Gosh, I don't know... They were both pretty good and both had moments or elements that were rather blah....

Is it bad that I thought this thread was a joke until I read the replys?

Bioshock Infinate, is the worst "shock" game created by a fairly large margin. Even if we limit it to the Bioshock series only it is still the worst of the three bioshock games (the first, far better World, level design and story, second one, better combat advancement). Infinate did nothing the other shock games did not do better, outside of bring so static and non-interactive that it was almost fun.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is not the best Deus ex game, but certainly not the worst either (yeah IW did happen). But gameplay wise excells in every area I know over Infinates. Story is what story is, due to the first DX happening, you can not really have alot of freedom. As the result is more or less painted out before we sat Down and playied.

If we stack those two up against eachother, then DE:HR by far.

Or did I miss something in Infinate? cause while I finished the game, it is the only bioshock game I have never replayied, and I simply skip over it every time I liook for a game in the library to play, while All other Bioshock games and DE:HR have been replayied atleast once (partly due to the Dev cut version, which cost less then the missing link dlc alone :S).

BioShock Infinite had pretty graphics, fun characters and setting, boring gameplay but an interesting story. It also made me buy Cindi Lauper's greatest hits. Deus Ex had awesome gameplay and story but a terrible ending that disregarded your choices with buttons ala ME3.

DEHR easily, I could still play it today.

DE:HR without a doubt, particularly the DC. The only real failings to DE was it being overly slanted to the stealth no kill approach, and the ending, but other than that, it kicked the *bleep* out of BSI. It was quite clear that BSI had a lot of ambitions that it just couldn't accomplish so instead we ended up with a game that felt like most the good bits had been cut and been replaced with much duller components.

@Lulu_Lulu: @Lulu_Lulu: Bioshock infinite has many concepts and themes and naming all of them would take a long time, Grandfather paradox, and Parallel universe, from Rapture to the flying Utopia Columbia and ....... the greatest thing about the Bioshock infinite is not the story but the way that story is being told most of this story is American history

Stop overrating the original game.

At least Human Revolution did not have completely idiotic moments where certain characters would not recognize that JC killed someone in front of them. The first games script is atrocious and so is its voice acting. The pacing of the story is horrific and runs on. None the characters not AI's are interesting, and DX too has horrible boss fights. Hell Gunther kills players a second after conversation is if you don't have the kill phrase. What a joke.

The first games greatness comes from its design and its ideas and concept. It does not come from its execution. It is a very flawed game.

Bioshock Infinite was more up my alley, I played HR about a year after it came out... People were touting on about it being the best game ever, and as you could imagine I was quite disappointed. I made the wrong augmentations. But I was expecting a game where any combination of augs would be serviceable. Anyways... Very inconsistent graphics, horrible geometry for a 2011 game, jerky animations, overall a very poorly presented game that rides off of the nostalgia people still have for the original Deus Ex.

Bioshock Inifinite is an action adventure game and does everything an action adventure game should do. So I choose that.
